Re: Tyres
If you can find somewhere which uses Evergreen, I would recommend these, which I have bought before at a good price too -

Re: Tyres
Have you tried black circles? Relatively cheap and gives a good idea on what is out there so you can surf webs...
I usually check what tyres are available there then buy off ebay as it tends to be cheaper

I'd second that, I've got Evergreen on my daily and they've been fine and cheap too.pbar wrote:If you can find somewhere which uses Evergreen, I would recommend these, which I have bought before at a good price too -

For the Laser I've bought Goodride brand, they were about £120 for 4, bought them on recommendation of a pal who has them on his Subaru Legacy and he's also had them on his wife's 07 Honda Civic. He swears by them and got quite a good mileage out of them.

Re: Tyres
its surprising how much price difference there is between different tyre sizes even for the same brand. You'd have to pay just over double that for a set of 205 60x 13s for the injection/ injection special.
Re: Tyres
Yeah, i paid just over £172 for a set of Nankang 205's for mine.Not_Anumber wrote:its surprising how much price difference there is between different tyre sizes even for the same brand. You'd have to pay just over double that for a set of 205 60x 13s for the injection/ injection special.

Re: Tyres
Thats not bad. Are the Nankangs grippy enough for performance use ?
Re: Tyres
I have had them on my 2.8 and 3.0 Capri's and they seem fine.....Although I didn't really tear around in them.Not_Anumber wrote:Thats not bad. Are the Nankangs grippy enough for performance use ?
I always try and get my tyres from a local tyre and exhaust company.
I recently paid £192 for 4 'Autogrip' 195/60/14 tyres, that included fitting, balancing and getting rid of the old tyres.

Hi,Rosco59 wrote:Hi where's the best place to get 185 70 r13 tyres seen some on eBay for £109 for 4 but thought that was a bit cheap. Thanks
Buying from Ebay sellers may not be a problem, as long as you adhere to the usual good buying practise rules.
Don't forget to factor in the cost of having the tyres fitted. You may have to search around as a lot of places won't touch tyres that they haven't supplied.
It might be less grief to get a fully fitted price from online retailers.
Buying tyres is a funny game though. When I was recently shopping around for tyres for my Mum's Suzuki (car, not motorbike!) the local National Tyres branch couldn't match the price that identical tyres were listed at on their own website! I had to buy them online and arrange to have the tyres fitted at the branch!
Andrew.

If I take my own tyres in to my local fitter, he charges me £10 per tyre to fit although it should be £15.
So £40 to £60 a set..... is it always worth it??
Re: Tyres
Depends. Some people just cant supply older sizes anymore. I remember going to multiple places near me and none could get 205/60r13's at all. I was forced to buy online. I’ve put Toyo Proxes CF2, 185 60 R13 on mine. Considering how much rain we have all year I decided these were the best and most suitable I could find. That said there isn’t much choice for these tyre sizes.
I got 4 new tyres for £176.00 inc delivery from eBay tyre store based in Bradford. A further £10.00 per corner to fit locally.
