Worst customer service I have ever had
Hi all,
I have been dealing with a well known capri parts supplier and I have to say I have never had such poor customer service in my life. I work in customer service and if I acted like this gentleman then I am sure I would be sacked.
First of all this is all on his EBAY shop.
I looked at some parts but unfortunately there was insufficient information for me to establish if it was suitable for my needs.
I asked about the information I needed and didn't hear anything back from him for days.
I then asked if he had got my message and he responded by telling me that all the required information was in the advert. Well I am afraid it was not otherwise I wouldn't have needed to ask the question.
When I went back to him with why I needed the information his reply was very rude that I shouldn't need any other information, implying I should just take his word for it and do as he says.
Well being an engineer by trade I know what info I need and how to use it.
Well it has ended that now I have the information I need and went to order the parts I required and he has blocked my ebay account.
I could not believe it as with the postage included I was about to spend £180 with him for my brake conversions for both the rear and the brackets for the front conversion.
How this guy stays in business I have no idea. I have never had such poor service.
such a shame as most people involved with older cars are more than happy to help and most go above and beyond. This guy seems content with scraping by and having taking out his own frustrations on anyone who is not a yes person.
so sad.
For those who know who I'm on about, most who have been in the game will, Be warned about him. I'm not the first to have problems and I will not be the last.
Rant over

Re: Worst customer service I have ever had
Hi,
Sorry to hear about how you've been treated.
I think most people will know who you're referring to. Unfortunately, that person is in the privileged position of having a monopoly with the specialist parts he supplies, so the customers have no choice over where they can buy them.
As you say, most people with classic cars, especially in the Capri community, are happy to go out of their way to help each other out.
Andrew.

Which supplier is this ?
I was wondering about a brake conversion, do they work with 13" wheels though ?

There is a kit available that is compatible with 13" wheels. It's for use with Sierra calipers, if I remember rightly.Not_Anumber wrote:I was wondering about a brake conversion, do they work with 13" wheels though ?

Re: Worst customer service I have ever had
I would love to know who this person is, so i can avoid dealing with them in the future. Ive already had one awful experience with a scumbag Capri breaker (sent parts to wrong address, went missing, refused to give me a refund despite the fault being 100% on him), would rather avoid doing that again at all costs.

Sadly most of his publicity seems to be for being a twat in dealing with the public. Strange as you say.Ghia15 wrote: For those who know who I'm on about, most who have been in the game will,
Contrast Rally Design who I emailed close to midnight last night with a query about some brake discs and I had a reply before 11 this morning. I'll be placing an order later.

Such a shame.
I will be avoiding him from now on but don't forsee any need of him now.
Will tell people to avoid him like the plague.

Yeah, I was assuming Capri Sport too. I had a similar situation a couple of years back. To be fair, whilst his reply was "read the advert it has all the information in", that was true, I just wasn't understanding it. Still, his attitude put me off anyway.

I can't stand ignorant people, and glad I haven't dealt with him-JC- wrote:Yeah, I was assuming Capri Sport too. I had a similar situation a couple of years back. Maybe it's about time someone told him what a ***** he is to potential customers......The old saying "The customer is always right"
Not everyone is mechanically minded, so may therefore need more information.
He needs to be more respectful as sticks

Hi.
Glad a name was mentioned in the end, as its all too easy for someone to jump to the wrong conclusion and think its one of the good guys on here and stop using them ! Never dealt with Capri Sport myself and see no reason to change this as Martin always sorts me out
All the best

Good point. I was going to mention a name myself, but I thought as it's Ghia15's thread I didn't want to tread on his toes.Fordoholic Nick wrote:Glad a name was mentioned in the end, as its all too easy for someone to jump to the wrong conclusion and think its one of the good guys on here and stop using them !

Trouble is, it's such a shame as his products are top notch. (albeit expensive)

Yep, why go to the lengths to sell such good quality parts then fall well short on customer relations ? Strange one....SmokeEm wrote:Trouble is, it's such a shame as his products are top notch. (albeit expensive)

Re: Worst customer service I have ever had
I'd heard things about him before I even contacted him. It put me off using him at all, but for the fact that he seemed to be the only real choice for brake upgrades if you can't do the hard parts yourself to make other OEM stuff fit.
Yeah. Although my preferred term would be "assholes" (if I'm being polite).Arya2.0S wrote:Some people are just toxic by nature.

Re: Worst customer service I have ever had
I have just looked at my order.
Having placed it on the 2nd of April I was shocked to see an estimated delivery time between the 12th and the 18th.
Thats a full 8 - 13 days after the order was placed, to come from Didcot to Reading.
I should have collected them.
I would understand if none in stock but the advert said there was plenty available.
I will be getting these bits and then that's it for me ever giving him money.
I will also advise people not to use if his name comes up as people deserve better than this when dealing with a passion.

Re: Worst customer service I have ever had
Still no idea who it is we are supposed to be avoiding.
Though this is discrete and perhaps a kindness to the actual supplier regarded as rude and unhelpful it does though cast a shadow over all the other known suppliers as people speculate who it applies to and run through a list of possibles in their heads.
