Shell for sale

Post by MiniMan »

Hi everyone,

A few months back I posted about my car being involved in an accident:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=49593&p=334391#p334364

I still have the remainders of the shell I used to repair the car and wanted to offer it up on here first.
If no one wants it, I'll pop it on ebay and after that it will be sent to scrap (its far too good to scrap but I just don't have the room)

The shell is based in Church Stretton, Shropshire.

Its in okay condition. Floor pans, boot pan, roof and outer wings are all pretty solid.
Note the front end has been cut out and also the doors and glass removed.

If anyone's interested let me know via PM, I'm not after a lot of money so please make me an offer.
Many Thanks

Sam

Is it just the photos or does this not have a sunroof?

How's your car getting on?

Hi Matt,

Thanks for asking!
The cars fixed, picked it up on Friday but haven't had chance to take any good photos yet, I'll let you know as soon as I do.
Smile is back on my face. :D

The car has no sunroof. In the V5C its listed as a Ford Capri 1.6 Laser.

Thanks Sam

How much are you after for it? Could really come in handy in sorting mine out..... Starting to get a bit, chewy let's say, at the rear
Far too many people have forgotten the joy of just going out to drive!

Hi,

I know it's easy to say, but how are you fixed for cutting out key bits like roof, boot pan, rear quarters and storing them to sell individually? Maybe an almost complete shell puts people off due to difficulty storing and hassle of cutting it up? If I am right about that, you might find you shift the individual panels more easily, make a few quid more and spare those good bits from the scrapper?

Like I say, that is very easy for me to say. I know that I don't have space to store a shell or bits cut from one!

But aren't Capris "timeless classics"?

Unfortunately Martin that man with the shell hasn't been active on the forum since July 2018 so it's unlikely he will see this.

If you are still looking for a shell its worth posting that up on here and probably also the Capri Power forum. Also worth asking Tickover, Martin at Caprigear, Nial, CCI etc to keep an eye open as shells do come up and its often a case of getting the word round to the right people to keep an ear to the ground.
