Re: Bodies 3.0S
It would be a shame if that's the case wouldn't it Andy. But then agian, what actually would you do with such a car, is it simply non-driveable?
Re: Bodies 3.0S
I think it's perfectly driveable and it should be seen, but at that money I suspect it will be kept in a secure environment....Shamepbar wrote:It would be a shame if that's the case wouldn't it Andy. But then agian, what actually would you do with such a car, is it simply non-driveable?
BUT.........
As its not the actual car that appeared in the programme(?) due to reshell and probably many many new parts over the years, is it just another 3.0S that has a recognised number plate.....

I agree. I would imagine that the buyer knew about the history of the car, as I can't imagine anyone spending that much money on an impulse buy. They would have researched the car and carefully read the auction catalogue description before bidding.
What's a "hero car", by the way?
Andrew.

Ah yes I didn't read that bit unless it's an addition and I missed it. Has it been resheller into a Brand new shell or a second hand one?andyd wrote:Hi Mark,ESSEXV6ESSEX wrote:I bet they don't know. Fact is if you sell something and don't declare stuff like that then the buyer has a right to get their money back plus any costs. That all changed or came in quite recently. When they find out will they chase their money?
Here is a part paragraph from the listing I put up in the first thread: "The internet is alive with information about such hero cars and separating fact from fiction is never easy. Suffice to say that 'VHK 495S' is understood to have been extensively restored (and is believed to have been reshelled) in the 1980s, and further refurbished and repainted in its original shade of Silver some three years ago."
If the buyer didn't read it or research then that's their fault IMO

I do love the colour scheme, however unusual it is! Not a reason to cough up £40K though. Out of curiosity, what's she worth and whys she not selling?

In my opinion, it's a difficult car to value because of it's rarity.
I think that the seller is holding out for top money, however, that does mean that it could take some time for the right buyer to come along.

Re: Bodies 3.0S
I think that the Capri which started the topic of this thread, once belonged to Bob Rocca, Professionals aficionado and author of two superb books on the series, as I discovered some snippets about it recently. You can see his comment regarding the re-shelling.
