Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
That is a stunning example of an early 2.8, simply gorgeous! I can't see a single fault.

Hi,

Incredible condition for a 32 year old car. From the photos it looks like it just rolled off the production line yesterday! I'm really looking forward to seeing it in the flesh at Simply Ford in May!

Hi Andrew,

It's a very straight car with a some age related marks and a few Carpark dings but nothing worth worrying about yet, besides it's over 90% original paint so want to leave it as long as possible. Maybe a blow over for the 50th anniversary at Brooklands

Roll on 2015 Show Season :D

Definitely! I would feel exactly the same way if mine was as original as your car.

Lovely car mate........... I had one the same colour and same year when I was young back in 85.

Love the 4 speed version :D I've got a Black 83 5 speed, but wish I could have found a 4 speed just like yours.

Hi Sheff,

Thanks they are getting rare in half decent condition. Wish I'd got it from the previous owner
before the dealer put his mark up on it , but when I couldn't sell my XR's I had to part ex so then you're trapped :x

At least you still have one :)

Hi Andy,

I saw a really tidy black 4 speed 2.8 at Beaulieu Simply classics and sports cars back in August. Both me and my mate walked straight past a Brooky to get a good look at it. It took us back in time 30 years to our 20's until we looked in the mirror and came crashing back to earth :(

I'm happy with my car, but if a good donor car came up, I would consider swapping the interior and gearbox over on mine.......... Sounds silly but its a nostalgia thing :D

It would be nice to see the car in the flesh. Will you be going to Simply Ford in May next year?

Hi Neil,
Met a guy who was going to buy mine then went for a Brooky, his loss my gain

Yes I will be at Simply Ford Beaulieu on May 3rd with the XROC, which I will be booking places for in April, so if anyone on here wants to join in we can all park together.
I will be asking for interest in this in new year :)

I'm with you, His loss your gain :D

I don't know if you can book a space at Simply Ford. The web page say's that you have to turn up together if you want to park together. We could all meet up somewhere first and drive in together if everyone wants.

I phoned in advance with the number of cars attending this year so we had a big enough area that we could all park together, and met in Car park 2 to convoy in, so will do same for the next one :)

The more the merrier mate.

I will put a thread on here in March so people wanting to go can copy and paste their names to the list.

A mate sent me this pic today

If I had known then what I know now, this wouldn't have gone anywhere.

Not perfect bodywise as almost all original paint, but a repaint at some point and I would have still been financially ok!

Nevermind, at least we have another one now :D

Don't know who bought it JM, as I sold it to a dealer.

I have put a post on Capri World to see if anyone on there has it, although out of MOT and SORN.
