I waited with excitement for Friday's first of three.....and was really disappointed. Didn't laugh at all, it seemed the "atmosphere" from the originals had gone. Didn't even watch the second one last night, I'm sure they'll all be repeated 100 or more times so I'll catch them sometime. I think it should be left as it was - brilliant - and not tried to be re-created. Just my opinion of course.......

WHAT ! a stupid story line
have been a big fan of red dwarf for many years but last night spoilt it for me , it would of been better to make a proper new series with them of exploring some far of alien world , instead of trying to make a crappy version of one of arnold swartzunhoweveryouspellittss, old films :x :x :x

It's the same storyline as the league of gentlemen film, which was awful! Fictional characters travel to the real world, hilarity does not ensue.

Don't do the nuts up tight on stuff anymore as it'll only have to be taken off in a week anyways....

haha hilarity did not ensue....what a line....
I was wondering iof it was any good or not I've missed all of them....still claim the books are how theTV show should'vebeen, they're so much darker than the TV version....but I'll give these new ones a watch despite the fairly damning comments!

i thought the ending pulled it round, main thing that ruined it was the lack of canned laughter the original had

The ending made it make more sense, but didn't make it any funnier. The bladrunner conections were quite well done though.

It was ok, not great though :( it's still red dwarf though (just). Series 1-3 were the best, it declined gradually after that IMO, although I do like them all - even 8 which it seems a lot of people hated!

Blade Runner? It was Harrisson Ford, not Schwarzenegger (dunno if that spelling is right either lol) and it's about 1 million times better than anything arnie did!

Never took to Red Dwarf but Commando is great escapism nonsense :D

Diaz: Mellow out man. We can't talk business with you waving guns in people's faces. Your daughter is safe, Colonel. Now whether she stays that way is up to you. My people, they got some business with you. And if you want your kid back, then you gotta co-operate, right?
