Thanks Andrew, first long trip I have done in the car and it drove well all day.
All the Capri's looked great today, and seemed very popular with positive comments :D

Thankyou again for the biscuits they were excellent

Evening Gents!
Thanks Andy for allowing me to ride shotgun in your stunning Capri.
Great to meet Andrew, Rob, Sheff and others (sorry but so many names in one day!) and of course, your cracking Capri's (and the others Ford's).
Shame I didn't get to bring mine but alway next time eh. Hopefully, the accelerator pump diaphragm can be replaced/fixed tomorrow.
Thanks again Andrew for the Toffee Waffles; trying not to eat them all this evening!
Hope to see you all again soon.
Here's a recent photo of mine and of your car's from today.

Had a great time yesterday at this breakfast meet. Great to meet Nige for the first time and catch up with Andy, Rob and Andrew.
Thanks for the waffles Andrew they were lovely to snack on going home :) Hope you get the plumbing sorted on your cooling system.
Andy your new Capri is a lovely example, I hope you hang onto this one!
And it was the first time I'd seen Robs 2.8 and I must say it looks as good in the flesh as it does in the photo's I've seen on here.

Guys sorry about the exit from Haynes, but when you have a young ST owning son you have to show them what a real Ford is about.

Let me know when anyone wants to go next as I'm well up for going again, even if it is an early start.

All the best

Yes, it was a great meet. Thanks Neil for your comments, 2 years ago I was drooling over yours as mine was a long way off. I really did enjoy meeting up & seeing everyone's cars, nice way to spend a Sunday. Got to add thanks to Andrew too for the waffles & the kind donation of a CCI magazine as well.
Don't apologise for the exit, was more impressive than us old farts leaving that's for sure :drive:

 Neil, will sort another one for August 4th maybe ....That's the next one I can do.
September 1st is the one after that which is a week before Brooklands, so not sure if that's a good idea :headscratch:

Either or both are okay with me Andy I will definitely be doing Brooklands, but its not a problem to do the weekend before for me. Making the most of driving the Capri this year, as it didn't get much action last summer season.

Service kit for my weber 32/36 DGAV arrived yesterday. I've spent a few hours today removing the carb and dismantling and cleaning it with white spirit and a toothbrush. New diaphragms, needle valve, O rings, gaskets installed. Noticed that the float height was out by about 8mm and the accelerator pump diaphragm had a tiny split in it (hence the slow fuel drip on the inlet manifold). I also cleaned the PCV valve/hose.
Result; smoother tickover/running and fuel leak/smell has gone. :woot:
Might need a manicure now

Cheers Rob. Although whilst adjusting the boot lock striker plate, I've snapped one of the bolts. some you win......

I've just checked my diary for August 4th and, to steal John Inman's catchphrase, I'm free!
It would be great if we got a decent Laser Page and possibly XR Club turnout.
