Re: CCI Sunday 7th May 2017
Hi Everyone,
Just a quick post to say I've just got back from an amazing day at the CCI Nationals. Anyone who didn't go missed a great show.
This year the weather was superb all day long (I'll have a head like a beetroot tomorrow!), there were loads of cars there, most of them were in absolutely stunning condition. I'll post some photos tomorrow, once I've had a chance to sort through them. The best part of the day was catching up/meeting with loads of fantastic people from the forum. Sorry I didn't have a chance to catch up with Jasonmarie, but maybe another time?
Andrew.

If I had a Capri I would have gone, but I won't leave my XR among public parkingAndrew 2.8i wrote:Hi Everyone,

I don't blame you, it's such a terrific example I would be extra careful with it too.andyd wrote: I won't leave my XR among public parking
Funnily enough, I saw a very nice red XR4x4 on the way to the show. I waved at the driver, but he didn't wave back.....

Lots of angry dissapointed people over at the Capri World FB Group, saying the place was small, the grass was tall, parts were expensive and the infamous John Hill didn't even come out, lots of people saying they are not going there again...

I can't understand what the fuss is about, I'm already looking forward to going again next year. It's without doubt the best show of the year for fans of the Capri.3 Litre Power wrote:Lots of angry dissapointed people over at the Capri World FB Group
Yes, the grass was long, but only in the visitor's parking area and definitely not in the show field.

Some of the gripes of others were the judging of cars, other fields not being used and the overflow parking and not to mention their love of John Hill. I am not one for awards and certainly dont do my cars up for such things.
I really enjoyed myself, bought lots of parts for both of my projects and look forward to future shows.
I dont really post up but will share what i currently own (and hopefully only!).

There's a couple of nice pictures of your car on Capri Power, post by Francis Ellingworth. (Laser)Andrew 2.8i wrote:Hi Everyone,

It was great to meet you too, and I really enjoyed tapping into your vast knowledge.
There's always going to be people who will criticise the judging of the cars. You saw the standard of the cars for yourself, and that means that, unfortunately, not everyone will be able to win what they feel they deserve.
That looks like a real beauty, very nice indeed.. You should post up a thread detailing the work you've done etc. We'd like to read more about it.
Andrew.

I'm currently sorting through my photos, and hope to have them posted here within a few hours.
In reference to the photos of my car, I'm pleased that some visitors appeared to like it, unfortunately however, I'm not on Capri Power so I can't see the photos or read comments. I'm not happy with the photo I took of my own car, it looks terrible in that!
