Re: Queens Square Meet
Hi All,
This is a shame indeed, but it does now mean I can make a Beer Fest just outside Cambridge on the Sat Night now!!! So all is not lost!!!
As to the reason, who knows!!!??? But I did notice some of these Muppets starting to show up to the Walton Bridge Breakfast meet a while ago!!! They do ruin it for everyone!!! Getting away nice and quick with some spirit is one thing, but going backwards and forwards, then sitting there Burning out is quite another!!!
Well, that should stir it up a bit, maybe!!! Lets hope October is back on and the Weather holds!!! All the best till then chaps, cheers,
John...

I hate seeing old Fords etc being treated like it, even if many do now have modern running gear fitted.Taff50ish wrote:Hi All,

I'll definitely be going. If it's on, that is....
It's a pity that you won't be going, but hopefully some forum members may be able to come along, weather permitting!

Re: Queens Square Meet
Hi,
It looks as though this month's meet is set to be cancelled. Apparently, the police are saying that tge city centre is a no-go until the evening, and an alternative venue has yet to be found. Delaying the meet to next weekend isn't an option either as it will clash with the Bristol half marathon.
Fingers crossed for October!
Andrew.

Cheers Andrew, It's the Forge action day, a massive all make car show with plenty of on track action. It was great last year so looking forward to Saturday. Below is a link to last years show, there was even a Capri on track (but just the one though ) ;Andrew 2.8i wrote:Hi Rob,Caprifan Rob wrote:going to Castle Coombe on Saturday instead now, my eldest is showing his, so hitched a free ride

Re: Queens Square Meet
The latest on Queens Square.
Due to issues during the morning were going to try an evening meet!
The timing is very much a trial, please don't get there any earlier, we can't guarantee that the daytime issues will have gone.
Also, there are roadworks happening, so please check before leaving!
This is all new to us, but could be great fun! Let's see what happens!
Please share this as much as possible to avoid people turning up in the morning.
Unfortunately its a 6.30pm start which is ok for locals, but I don't want to be driving the Capri back late in the evening when its getting dark!
Good to see the event is still going ahead, which shows there's not a hidden agenda with the cancellation of the morning meet.

Agreed!
As you say, the evening meet is fine for locals.......not so fine when there's a two hour drive back home and an early start for work the next morning. Sadly, for me, it's one to miss.
Andrew.
Re: Queens Square Meet
Hopefully the October meet will go ahead as usual.... I'll be up for that one, but it maybe time to take the Golf GTI to its first breakfast meetAndrew 2.8i wrote: Hi Neil,

It would be great to see the car after all the work that you've done to it.

Re: Queens Square Meet
Hi All,
In case anybody was wondering, the reason that the September meet was cancelled at the request of the Police was because QS was the location of a planned march by the lesbian, gay, bi- and transgender community......
Give me classic cars any day!

Re: Queens Square Meet
They had one of those marches in my town recently and it's been on the top of the local paper's website for over two weeks now, with a" library " of over 100 photographs to educate and enlighten those that want to look at them. The paper didn't however extend anywhere near this amount of coverage to last year's Rememberance Day parade and there was no mention at all of the St. George's day march.Andrew 2.8i wrote:Hi All,

Whilst I have no problem with what people do in their own bedrooms, the way it's going I fear it will be bloody compulsory soon.

Excellent Andrew. Yes I'll be going, plan on taking the Capri unless it's a washout. My boys are taking theirs too, so I'll be going anyway even if I hitch a ride. See you thereAndrew 2.8i wrote:Hi Rob,Caprifan Rob wrote:Is anyone going this Sunday 8th ?
