Great day folks , and the Capri gods were out with the weather , I am glad you all got home safe as well , Andrew mate you did the Laser forum proud yesterday with all them pictures you took mate as there must have been 300 there . Also here there was a 2.0 laser stopped on the A303 with a guy saying I should have got a Pinto Capri . Big shout out to John not only for my new head unit for the Capri but to Mr Paul G who was unwell and hope your felling better mate .
Also thanks for my bits nick and I am glad that we pulled of your picture right of the mighty B112 outside the Ace .
I noticed that the guy who contacted me on YouTube has posted a video up last night I have not watched it yet but the video starts with Tom amazing Capri .

Yep, it's lucky that John was in the right place at the right time to help Paul out. He'd left when John went back to check on him, but hopefully he got home safely. As said, I hope Paul is feeling better today.

Indeed, it was a fantastic day and many thanks to the Surrey Capri Club for organising!

Left home at 6.30am... met up with Nick, on to South Mymms, then round the 25 to the Sainsburys. En route overtaken by a group of bikers, an enthusiastic Jag driver, and saw a couple of other Capris along the way to boot. Quite a queue to get into Brooklands, a few overheated 2.8s by the side of the road (no comment!!). We ended up some way apart but over the course of the event, somehow, and I don't know how, all ended up parked together. Jason enjoyed reminiscing his wartime childhood in the air-raid shelter.

Good to meet various folk off the forums, hope everybody got home in one piece, the traffic on the 25 going back was murder - didn't get back in until 8pm and I live just the other side of London!

Hello. Had a great day yesterday and really nice to meet more people from this forum who I have not met before in real life.
A good and broad selection of cars to enjoy and good to meet people who'd made a real day of it coming from far afield.

Nice to see a few standard cars in GL and L spec, but still not enough for my liking. I like to watch modified turbo stuff going up the hill (some very impressive runs there) although all too little hillclimb action unfortunately, but I do like an original spec model with a nice exposed handbrake lever.
There was also a gentlemen I met there with a mirror image car to mine, ie cardinal red, early 5 speed injection without any side stripes, which was cool.

My mother was very enamoured with her badge (or perhaps I should say enameled), i emailed her a picture, so thank you for that!

I like Mr cosmicbikes picture of the convoy, my shirt is even visible through the rear window on his third picture!

Also like to thank Kent Capri club with whom I ended up parked as that was closest I could get to forum, well the parking was all a bit mayhem but it wall worked out OK in the end - I mean they're all the same cars aren't they?

:agree: JM the weather couldn't have been better!

It's like winter here today :(

I read on FB that 293 cars attended :applaud:

Nice to meet you Paul, hope you are ok mate

Had a great day yesterday, weather was brilliant & seeing all those Capris was pretty mind blowing. Enjoyed catching up with friends & meeting new ones. My wife has just become a major MK1 fan seeing loads she’d like to own, there were just too many good ones to choose a winner, didn’t envy the judges one bit.
Thought I’d just add some pictures too,

Hope everyone had a good return journey, thanks again Andrew for leading the way.

Hi Rob,
Good to see you and Mrs Rob.

Yes the queue was a nightmare but it didn't spoil the day.

Sorry missed you leave but I was chatting to a guy I knew over 25 years ago (Small world!!), he had the blue 3100 parked by the cafe/toilets and told me he bought it about 20 years ago, so he has a great investment :)

Did you climb the tree to get that pic of the cars on the banking

I see from the comments that your car is to be the subject of a full review video. Nice one!
That should be interesting, I look forward to watching it. :D

The only climbing I did was up the banking. Even then I got told off by a Marshal as people aren't allowed to climb to the top of the banking for health and safety reasons....
A great photo of the cars on the banking, by the way. I wish I'd gone on the footbridge and got a photo from up there.

We did the same, marshals weren’t keen on us going high as you said so we walked to the bridge for a better view. Looking forward to seeing your pictures Andrew

Sorry I did not post up sooner. Well I kinda did but I just seen my post in 'drafts' so not on forum. !!! This 12hr shift is doing my head in this week. I must have saved it to edit but never posted

Guys I can't tell you how much I enjoyed Brooklands on Sunday , from the early morning convoys, bikers escorting us, convoy from Sainsburys and prob the best traffic queue in the world to get in to Brooklands. Yes it was very slow but it was all Capris and I loved it. I had Rob in my rear view mirror :)

It really was great chatting to you all and just having a good laugh too. Still don't know how Jason persuaded me to join in with Peters special flypast

Peter was telling me this was the first time he had his Pinto and V6 parked up together apart from at home so this was a rare sight indeed !! How cool must it be to convoy with your own car in your rear view mirror or in front  Danny can have a three capri convoy of his own when the.3.0S is done. ! I finally got to see Robs stunning interior trim work he did with... wait for it,... Yes... Halfords Flexible Vinyl Paint :woot:  Great job Rob especially the dash. Your Capri really is as good as in the pics I seen before. But all the forum Capris were just fantastic and I really enjoyed seeing them again and for the first time. I am getting to know Jason's and Toms Capris as well as I know John's with all the convoys and meets we done this year

So yes a brilliant brilliant day with great friends. Both old and new. I have got some pics to upload so will get organised and get some posted up. I am doing a killer 12hr shift this week so been knackered last couple of nights but I have some good photos somewhere !! Some fantastic pics already been posted. Love the ones of the queuing Capris outside.

Already looking forward to Brooklands 55th

Thank you again to all of you for making it such a terrific day and the icing on the cake.. Or cakes was getting on the banking with Jason and of course the amazing Oil Painting present presented to me. No wonder I am still on a high.

Anyway just popped a few pics up on the gallery to add to Peters but sorry they are very unorganised this time and somehow I have missed some forum Capris but sure Andrew will come to the rescue :)

Thanks again guys I had a stunning day !

All the best

Nick
