Singleton Park Swansea
Came home off my hols this weekend & went straight to a classic show in Swansea. This used to be a big show but it’s getting more of a family fun day now & the cars are just a sideshow now. Still, there were 6 Capris there, all different models so made my day. All cars great to see, some i’d seen before & some I hadn’t.
1.6 S
2.8i
GT4
2.0 Laser
Spotted these 2 in car park
Bumperless satin black number
1.6 Cabaret 2
There were loads of other nice fords there, took a few pics;
Stunning rally prepped escort
Early XR3i
Late XR3i
RS mk1
Nice MK1 Fiesta
Anglia with banded steels
Savage MK4 rally Cortina
Harris engined MK2
2.0 GT MK3 Cortina, want it !
Bullet Mustang (for hire)!
Good morning out, bumped into friend Becca who was at Simply Ford & blew the engine on her Laser while up there. She’s getting a new one rebuilt & will be taking it to Brooklands for the 50th. Good luck getting it done Bec.
Cheers,
Rob

Yes, yesterday. She was there with husband Jonathan, they've got a spare 2.0 pinto & have ordered a new cam etc and will have to build it up ( in between extending their garage !). Hopefully they'll get it done in time for brooklands.Jasonmarie wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 3:04 pm Some great pictures there Rob love the mk111 Cortina also the mustang some nice capris as well . Hi Rob,
Looks like a great show and thanks for uploading the superb photos.
I was going to go along myself, sadly I've been too busy with some DIY jobs around the house.
Andrew.

Glad I went, just to see the Capris. I'd say it was about a third of what it once was though. Nothing like it was when we saw you there. Done a bit of DIY since I got home, wish I'd taken another jacket now & braved the cold for longerAndrew 2.8i wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 4:28 pm Hi Rob,

Re: Singleton Park Swansea
Saw Adrian and his GT4 at a show today.
I know it's early, but here's a quick heads up about the Singleton Park show next year. Adrian told me that next year May Day bank holiday is moving to Friday to commemorate the anniversary of VE day. Therefore the show will either be on bank holiday Friday, or more likely Sunday instead of the usual bank holiday Monday slot. This show has been growing steadily over the last few years, and I've been told that they rigorously enforce their pre-1988 only rule so it's classics only. One for your diary for next year.

Thanks Andrew, it’s a rare car that, think it’s the only one I’ve seen about. I’ll make a note of the date change for the next show. Thanks for letting me know.Andrew 2.8i wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 1:37 pmSaw Adrian and his GT4 at a show today.

Re: Singleton Park Swansea
Yep. I didn't know anything about it either, but when I got home I looked it up. Next year there won't be a May Day bank holiday Monday, it's going to be a bank holiday the following Friday instead (8th May). That'll confuse a lot of people!Jasonmarie wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 7:29 pm Sorry did you say bank Holiday Friday ? If you need to organise catering for your street party, I hear somebody on here bakes a mean rhubarb pie!

I managed to persuade HM the Queen to commemorate the date with a bank holiday, especially for you. That puts the Spitfire flypast you organised for Peter in the shade!

That’s Amazing I might have to get our pie/cake person to bake a cake and use the official tea towel on that special day that the whole of the U.K. are having the day off .Andrew 2.8i wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 3:46 pmI managed to persuade HM the Queen to commemorate the date with a bank holiday, especially for you.
