Berkeley Castle Show 2018
A few weeks ago I went to a great show held in the grounds of Berkeley Castle in Gloucestershire. There was a decent turn out of old Fords, and here are my highlights. Where better to start than with the Capri contingent?

Some nice rare classic cars there Andrew, and I agree with you on the Montego.
Nice to see the old BL cars, Celicas and the VX490 still around

Some fantastic pictures there Andrew, must have taken an age to upload! Have to agree, love that 3.0s. Not 1 but 3 Escort Mexico's, very nice. Both mk2 Escort Sport owners work with me (Kev & Gary, both really nice guys). I agree with you both that the Montego is rare but for my tastes I hope they stay that way, was never fan of them (or the Maestro) when they were new. Some great American cars there too & I'm a big fan of those Mk1 Celica's too. Nice work on the tank too, your car just gets better.
Cheers for the pics,
Rob

I like to see the survivors from the 70s, 80s and 90s still going strong. Sadly, there weren't any RS or XRs at this show, but hopefully some of the other cars help make up for it. Not even an RS2000 to be seen.....

Kev and Gary should be very proud of their amazing cars. Very nice indeed!
I must say that you've gone down in my estimation for your comments in regard to the Montego and Maestro.....
Both Celicas were superb, but the white one was especially gorgeous.

I love to see those old but normal cars. Yes, they were mundane and boring back in the 70s and 80s, but they are mostly rare to see now. Plus, even those cars have more character than most modern cars.

When you see as many XRs as I do, you often take them for granted so something different is niceAndrew 2.8i wrote:Thanks Andy, andyd wrote:Some nice rare classic cars there Andrew, and I agree with you on the Montego.

They are well presented cars in fairness Andrew, Kev's is the terracotta one, bought as is. Gary's is the (Mazda) red one, imported from Africa & constantly being improved.Andrew 2.8i wrote:Kev and Gary should be very proud of their amazing cars. Each to their own I say, anyone willing to lavish their time on a classic is commendable though they're never going to be my cup of tea.

Re: Berkeley Castle Show 2018
Very nice Andrew. Some rare stuff there and some not 'so' old. The Ital made me smile, as my Dad had a horrible chocolate brown one but I also remember the adverts raving about its Italian styling. All it had was a gruesome plastic grill nailed to a Marina
Good to see a Montego as well, my Dad's last car. It was tinkering with that to sell it on that gave me the urge to get an older car as a hobby. Sensibly I went for the blue oval though!
That Escort camper van would do Nick. He could turn up really early for shows then and have a nice kip before everyone else arrives!

I'm sure most people will agree that was a wise decision!
You might be on to something with the Escort camper. It would be ideal for CRaP too.....
