CCI Nationals 2018
Hi All,
What an amazing day at this years CCI Nationals. The weather was superb, with not a hint of rain all day, the cars were all stunning and I caught up with lots of people and enjoyed chats with many owners about their cars.
Here are photos of most of the Capris that were there. I'll leave the comments to minimum, I'll let you make up your own minds about the cars!
If you don't mind, I'll start with a photo of mine on the way to the show. Note the early morning mist.

Thanks for posting these pictures up Andrew, looks like it was a great day out! Will have to maybe make the effort for their other show later this year! Also the cars with 15" RS4 look pretty great! Definitely a tempting option....

No problem, I hope that you enjoyed looking through the photos. It sounds like the seed for 15" RS 4 spokes has already been planted in your mind.....

It is very tempting... but I love the deep dish ones I have as well! I think there is only one solution..... buy another capri and fit 15s to it!!Andrew 2.8i wrote:Hi Danny,D366Y wrote:Thanks for posting these pictures up Andrew, looks like it was a great day out! Gutted I didn't go now Andrew I really want to see the Goblin Capri and meet Chris (Coyote500) the new owner.
Thanks for posting the pictures. I agree with you that is a stunning two tone 2.8, however so is yours so its a close call Nice to see so many 2.8's with Pepperpots at the show, it looks like there was even a special with them fitted or at least a very late B reg pre special.
Weather was great yesterday, I popped out to Beaulieu for a drive, but didn't bother paying to go in as it was late in the day. Watched loads of Fords driving out some old but as usual most were modern. It was the 50 year celebration of the Granada and they had some nice ones leaving, so I had my fill of listening to the 2.8 V6
All the best
Neil

Thanks for the pics Andrew.
As you say weather was/is great for a car show
Many lovely Capris there including yours, Johns and Jasons muddy example (Must try harder)
Looks like a laid back event, far more my cup of tea than Haynes, pity it's further away

You're welcome Andy, I hope you enjoyed the photos. Thanks for the compliment too. Jason made an great entrance by wheelspinning all over the place, hence the mud! To be fair, the field had a heck of a slope and the grass was damp in the morning.andyd wrote: Many lovely Capris there including yours, Johns and Jasons muddy example (Must try harder)

Hi Andrew.
Wow !!! What a stunning collection of Capris. Amazing !!!! I was unable to make this too but had things to do...one capri related and very worthwhile indeed
As much as I would like to I cant make every show I suppose !! But will deffo try to get to this next year.
Thanks for posting up so many pics mate. Am not even gonna try start picking out favourites as I will get myself in a twist as they are all soooooooo bleedin amazing !
But its always lovely to see the forum Capris doing us proud and yourself, John and Jason all certainly did this for sure Jasons Laser does look very nice on those seven spokes !!! Were any other forum Capris in attendance Andrew. I am useless with details like this so apologies if I have not mentioned any other members who were there !!
For me these sort of meets is just as about meeting up and chatting with old and new friends as it is seeing their remarkable capris so i was sad I missed this as would have liked to have had a catch up with you Andrew and to have met Jason and his dad too. I wiould have loved the convoy with John too but I was busy pretty much all day yesterday.
I too would have loved to have seen that Goblin Capri too !! Maybe it will be at Santa Pod ?
Anyway great pics as always Andrew. Really enjoyed looking through them all. Thanks fella
All the best

You'll hear it coming long before you see it! Hopefully you will get to see it at some point, and it's well worth a good look around. As you know, opinion of this car is divided but as the photo shows, it was very popular indeed with the Capri crowd. The quality of work is superb, I must say that the Goblin Works crew are very highly skilled in what they do. The owner was a nice chap too. He had to rush off straight away after arrival to talk to Martin, so he opened the car up and left people to look around it. Remarkable considering how much it cost!Fordoholic Nick wrote:I too would have loved to have seen that Goblin Capri too !! Maybe it will be at Santa Pod ?

Hello , yes what a great day to meet up with you Andrew and well done for winning that gold , as your car was stunning .
I also got to meet John who really knows his stuff and I am looking forward to hearing about them door speakers . I also got to catch up with Dan and his Mum .
There was some great capris at the show and the weather was just right accept that muddy field that , well it would have been funny if it was on Video but I think the forum gods made me park next to you Andrew .
Did get to see that beast from goblin works and yes what a car and the sound that Engine made was very deep and loud.
Sorry I had to go at the end quick as my legs had started to show there signs of not working .
I hope your ears were not burning nick as we spoke about your wheels & core plug and when we saw John pull in we thought you would be not to far behind .
Only Top Tip I should have put more sun cream on as I have a very bright red face & legs .
