White Lion Breakfast Meet AND Whitewebbs Classic Fords

Post by Fordoholic Nick »

Hi all,

Had a really great day out today. John got in touch with me late last night about going to the White Lion Antiques Breakfast Meet just down the M3 in Hartley Wintney this morning. We only decided at last min to go but really glad we did as it was a really nice drive down there with John in convoy. Once we came off the m25 it was a really enjoyable sunday morning spin....in drizzle    I would not let it defeat me though and thankfully it was only that...drizzle !

It's the first outing for B112 wearing her new 15" wheels. I was really impressed with how the car drove on the 195 50 tyres and John said it looked well planted on the road which was music to my ears. He drove in front of me to get a look at the front and then behind me to check out my rear end :o   I still want to drop the rear a bit as just sitting a tad high and poss the front as well. Then it will be spot on !
John thanks for your opinion on how B112 looks. Always good to get an 'outside the box' opinion from the likes of yourself sir !. Much appreciated. John was sitting behind me for a while too en convoy ( think I was holding him up :o ) so I got to see his quad lights in full view. Boy they look stunning especially when he flashed me on all four high beams ...wow ! John 'accidentally' switched on his full quads just as we turned into the White Lion with quite a few spectators...'accident'...my arse !!...more like 'poser' !!

Anyway as said it a great drive down with John in his superb 2.8i Special. Put a big :D on my face except when I had to flick that wiper stalk thingy to move those silly things on the windscreen :crying:  First convoy with John this year and we actually decided to go to another little meet on our way home !! This was near where I live at Whitewebbs Museum Classic Ford Show in Enfield, which is only a small show but still worth spending an hour there and we got more driving in too.

We just missed Kris and his 2.0S at The White Lion Meet :( as he got there very early and had left at 10am [we arrived at 1045). Shame we missed him this time but will be many others.

So...some pics. Not many this time chaps as we did not get to White Lion till 1045 when most were leaving  and the Enfield show is very small.

First up the White Lions Antiques Breakfast Meet...

We got parked up together easy as most were leaving as we arrived  Johns Special never ceases to amaze me how stunning it is...

So chaps as said not so many pics this time and was pretty tired as only got a few hours sleep so not so much descriptions on each photo...apologies. I hope John got some better pics of the Capri's at Whitewebbs than me so he can add a few more...cheers John !!!
But today was just as much about the convoy and fantastic drive with John and a first chance to see how B112 handles with the new wheels/tryes and I am not disappointed one bit :D

All the best now

Nick

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the pics both events looked good, and some lovely cars considering the weather.

Good to hear your car drove well and both your Capri's look great

Cold but dry here, and I saw a 'C' reg Sunbeam and 'F' reg Scirocco on my way to the shop this morning :D

Hi Nick,
As Andy said, there are some very tasty cars at both shows, what a great way to spend a day.
The stars of both shows were definitely those stunning lacquer red cars! 8-)
It's good to see some photos of your car 'in the wild' with your gorgeous new 15" wheels fitted.
Thanks for uploading the photos.

All the best,
Andrew.

Cheers Jason. Thanks mate. Yep it was bleedin cold alright this morning but was worth it for the drive alone...even if I had to use my wipers a few times !! It cleared up a tad later tho.

Thanks again chaps for all your kind words. Makes it worthwhile uploading all the pics :D

Hi All,

As Nick says this was a great little drive out today and his wheels do look amazing in the flesh as it where!!! So as Nick suggested, here are a couple more pics of the day I though worth a look. Then at the end a couple of short videos from my Dash Cam where I think I caught the Wheels for the side to give you a better idea how they look, so here goes...

Hi John,
Great photos, as said by the others.
I see you had trouble keeping up with Nick as the convoy leader. He got up to a speedy 27MPH at one point in your clip!

Andrew.
