Walton Bridge Breakfast Club, Sunday 3rd Dec, Last one of 2017....

Post by Taff50ish »

Hi All,

Well it was a wet cold start to the day on Sunday, but as this was the last meet for this Year, as in previous Years I had already decided I was going to get along to this meet again, as it always can surprise!!! So off I went in the Cappa. (Freshly washed the night before!!!) I'm very happy I did too, as there was quite a lot there for such a crappy day, admittedly there was no where near the numbers of classics you get on a Hot Summer morning of course, but still a lot had decided to brave the weather and show up, so here we go with a few pics of the morning...

We'll start with Kris's Capri, already Winterised.....

Wearing the Winter wheels AND the Winter front bumper!!! Now that's dedication!!! There were only the 2 Cappa's there and I totally forgot to take a pic of mine, but Kris did have a look at her And I got a Christmas Card under the wiper when I eventually got back to leave, from Ash, the chap who arranges this meet, I think it was a way of saying thank you for bringing out a classic for the last Meet, a very nice gesture!!!
Ash, if your reading this, mine was the Lacquer Red Capri injection... Cheers fella, Happy Christmas....

So, lets stick with the Fords a little longer... A very nice Cortina...
Image20171203_105706 by John Taylor, on Flickr

A very striking Escort...
Image20171203_094649 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Another stunning Escort...

Sticking with the Escorts a little longer....

I still love these MKII RS2000's....
Image20171203_095421 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Another Ford which may have given one or two of us a lift somewhere other than home in the day... Just the wrong side of the Pennines for me, Phew...
Image20171203_095216 by John Taylor, on Flickr
This was Stunning by the way....

A couple of Fords which may get you home quicker....
Image20171203_095239 by John Taylor, on Flickr

So off the Fords now and on to something completely different now. Hows this for a Rare Fiat 850???
Image20171203_095207 by John Taylor, on Flickr
A stunning little motor and a really nice chap who owned it...

Lets keep with the Sporty rare cars for a min or two, a very nice Jensen Healey...
Image20171203_094637 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Hows this for a rare sporty little number then???
Image20171203_094145 by John Taylor, on Flickr
Well done for keeping this in such amazing condition... Brilliant!!!

Heres a Blast from the past.... These were, sorry are Great cars.... Possibly THE original Hot Hatch??? Comments welcomed below!!!
Image20171203_093956 by John Taylor, on Flickr

How about a change of pace and we'll have a look at a couple of British Rag Tops then...
Image20171203_095457 by John Taylor, on Flickr
Bet you weren't expecting that???

An actual Midget...
Image20171203_095048 by John Taylor, on Flickr
I had forgotten how small these actually are!!!

OK, not a Rag Top, but very nearly!!! Great little motors...
Image20171203_093948 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Another Brit for you here. Not too sure what to call this one???? Tell you what, lets go with XJS Eventer
Image20171203_092259 by John Taylor, on Flickr

These two looked a little lonely on their own, but you can now appreciate how BIG the new Mini actually is...
Image20171203_093627 by John Taylor, on Flickr

No, Well check this one out then???
Image20171203_093832 by John Taylor, on Flickr

An Alfa.... Wow.... One of two I saw there, but missed the chance to take a pic of the other one... Ops!!!
Image20171203_093846 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Ops, I missed this chap out in the Ford section at the top of the page, but still well worth a pic...
Image20171203_094508 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Hang on!!! I did get the other Alfa.... And a few others too to boot...
Image20171203_094049 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Image20171203_105926 by John Taylor, on Flickr

Oh, hang on, its Not bust and it's only half Austin All-Agro. It's based on a Bettle....

Hi John,
Thanks for sharing the photos of some stunning cars. We seem to missing a photo of a certain lacquer red beauty!
Loving the Sunbeam in, I think, moonstone blue.
The XJS estates were converted by Lynx.

Merry Christmas John (am I only the second person to say that this year? :D )

Andrew.

Thanks for sharing, I was planning on attending but spent Saturday night being very ill and hence couldn't. Had even put my front bumper back on and everything!
Would be nice to do it in the spring and meet some people.

Some nice cars despite the weather, but must say I don't "get" why some of the Escorts have the wrong sized tyres fitted - look like Dinky toys, it makes the proportions all wrong.

Some nice pictures John. I love that little Fiat 850 coupe, often wondered about getting one. My Godmother had one when I was a kid and I've always liked them. Not sure about the Minilights on it though, should really have Cromadoras!

Great pictures John. Good to see all those classics out in the winter being enjoyed. Must include a picture of your :ford: next time .. :spank:, :D
Really like that white mustang with the iconic 'cliche' blue stripes & the yellow GT6 & RS2000 complete with vinyl roof. Thanks for sharing.

This was Stunning by the way....
This looks to be very well restored.
I assume that it has the Essex V6 under the bullnose.
