Abingdon air and country show
I went to this event for the first time yesterday. Largely an airshow (plane crash included ) but a lot of other stuff there including some classic cars. Obviously I had the camera so here are some of them.
I'll start with the Capris - a nice and rather rare 1.3

Right, that's the Capris done then, it was the only one!

Hi Peter,
Great selection of cars....A real classic car show
I attended a local show yesterday, and a very similar turnout of cars there too....I only saw 3 Capri's

Great pictures Peter. Looks like you had good weather which must have helped the turnout, good selection of American cars, particularly like that Mach1 shape.
Cheers for posting,
Rob

Hi Peter,
Fantastic photos, thanks for sharing them. It looks like it was a great show with a good variety of cars, although the pick of the show has to be the Capri!
Thankfully it would appear that the pilot of the plane involved in the crash you mentioned wasn't seriously injured.
Andrew.

Yes, thankfully the pilot got lucky http://blog.inreachoftheskies.co.uk/#post1437

Looks like a good show. "Isn't it ugly"! Your wife is the best. Don't get why they command such ridiculous prices. VW campers, not wives.

Wish I'd known this was on Peter, looks like a good little show. Not far from me either. I know the airfield in Abingdon well.
I see my old mate Roger is there with his MGA (in the background of the picture of the Tobacco Leaf Rover P6 and Stag). That's no trailer Queen, it's got a highly tuned 1950 cc alloy head MGB engine putting out about 140BHP, he goes all over Europe in it.

Ditto! I was only there a few weeks back as well as my dad had an experience day driving the General Lee used in the TV shows and films so would have been good to go, at least I know to keep an eye out for next timePaul G wrote:Wish I'd known this was on Peter, looks like a good little show. Yes Paul, a good show. Cars and planes, what more could you want!Paul G wrote:Wish I'd known this was on Peter, looks like a good little show. Not far from me either. I know the airfield in Abingdon well.
You could have come and said hello - unless you got stuck in some of the queues to get in, seems traffic from Abingdon town wasn't well handled

Great pic's Peter - have you seen the upcoming show for Blackbushes 75th Anniversary? Looks like a cracking show over 2 days.

Looked like a great day out with some really nice classic cars.
Used to work on that base back in the late 80's. Had a Black 3ltr S X reg back then too. Memories!.

It's a pity that we can't see all the photos because of Photobucket's new T&Cs.

Indeed Andrew, a pita.
I've loaded most things up to Flickr now so I'm gradually putting them back. It's the same with Deal show, the car resto and everything else I've posted over the years
