Hi chaps,
Following on from my rather detailed report of my trip over to Bristol for this meet with John and Danny to meet up with Andrew, here's a few pics. Sorry but there really are only a ""few" as by the time we had arrived, parked up and had a chat a lot of the other cars had either left or were on the move. Andrew did say there were a fair number at this one which considering the freezing cold morning in early Feb it was is an indication how good this meet is. My first trip over to this and I will def be coming again...maybe when its a bit warmer !
Where better to begin than the two forum cars of John and Danny that braved the sleet, rain, spray and mist to get to this
Johns Lacquer Red 2.8i Special parked up with Danny's Black 1.6 Laser

So, onto the journey home and what better chaperone out of Bristol City Central than Andrew in his stunning MR2, which he should have parked up in the square too. Thankfully no "fingers" from him, just a good old fashioned thumbs up

So out onto the M4 and Danny's Laser leading the way home. Note the Mitsubishi GTO in front that John spotted creeping up behind us. Well spottted !

So thats it folks, as said not many pics due to our late arrival...ermmm...someone left there wallet behind and had to go back for it
John, thanks very much again for the ride down in your 2.8i Special. Could not take the of my face fella. Tell me how much the bucket and sponge was as I feel guilty how dirty it got especially as mine was at home in the garage
Danny, was great to see you again and your Laser. Great little convoy down. Hopefully next time (Beaulieu ?) I will be with you guys
Andrew, always good to see you fella and catch up. Hope you had a good trip back across "that bridge". Hope you brought plenty of food supplies back over with you mate
Anyway everyone, hope you enjoyed looking at the above pics and video. This really is a very worthwhile trip to make, especially when the weather picks up.Hope to see some of you chaps over there some time as I know that Rob, Neil and Mark try to get along when they can. Think Kris is getting tempted too....Jeepers, the forum Capri's could take over Queen Square...hope that warden aint about again
All the best now
Nick
PS My apologies if a couple of the forum pics are a tad out of focus. Think my hand must have been shaking due to the cold ! Hopefully John, Danny or Andrew will have some better "focused" ones

Hi Nick,
It was great to meet up with you chaps, albeit briefly. Apparently there was some kind of hold up that made you all late. Can't remember what it was though!
Great photos, both Danny and John should be well pleased with their cars as they both look and sound superb. I was happy to be the tail-end Charlie on the way back, as I had two fantastic Capris to ogle. I must admit though, I didn't realise that the 1.6 Pinto was so quick. Danny must have been in a real hurry to get home........
Thanks also for the action shot of Mister 2, what a pleasant surprise to see it!
I didn't give you a "fingers" salute as you blasted past me on the M32 for fear of losing my fingers due to frostbite! God, it was freezing!
The silver Golf isn't really my thing, but you have to admire the way these chaps put so much effort into personalising and looking after their cars.
Photos to follow, if I may tag them onto your thread?
All the best,
Andrew.

Mind you I always grab the chance to have a ride in his V6
That Golf was remarkably Low mate. I mean that just has to be about as low as it could possibly be without actually sitting on top of the wheels. You really wonder how the dickens the front wheels dont rub when cornering as they were tucked up inside the arches ! Maybe Dave (smoke em) can tell us Although Danny mentioned he knows someone who fitted air bags to raise and lower so I am wondering if the owner "drops" it for shows, then raises it when he has to drive it ???andyd wrote:Shame about the Golf Athough someone must like it

Yep Beaulieu is rapidly approaching fella, but still a bit too soon to start checking the weather...or is it
All the best mate

Some nice shots of the Capri's there Nick, cars are looking good guys. It's well worth the trip if you get there early, can't believe how soon some of them leave. Hoping to get there with mine later in the year, I catch most of them on shift though , glad you enjoyed.
Cheers for posting.
