Queen Square June 2016
Hi Everyone,
A disappointing meet for June, perhaps the poor weather put a lot of people off. That, and a "Festival of Refugee Music, Arts and Information" (whatever that is) was also being held in the centre of the square. There were just enough decent cars to make the morning interesting, but I hope the July meet is back to it's excellent best.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking through the photos.
The only Capri there was this beautiful apollo green 3.0S.
Ford Escort RS Turbo.
A couple of 60's Mustangs.
Jaguar E-Type.
Austin A40 Pick-up.
Vauxhall Lotus Carlton.
Classic 80's Ferrari 400i.
Classic Austin Mini.
There can't be many Citroen AX Gti left now.
An iconic hot hatch, the VW Golf GTi, big bumper model.
Tesla Model S. For those that don't know, this is a fully electric car, and is quite stylish, in my opinion.
This particular car drew the crowds in to watch it's party trick. It has a self-parking thing that's being controlled by the chap on the left of the video, by using an app on his smartphone. Technology these days, eh?
Aston Martin Vantage GT12. Rear wing is standard.....so is 595BHP!
BMW 840i. I didn't really like these when they came out, but they're growing on me now.
1950's Chevrolet Pick Up.
Triumph 2000.
Triumph Vitesse.
Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z.
I've added a photo of this Jaguar XKR as it's a great car....but a terrible colour.
Morgan Aero 8.
I quite like the Porsche 944, especially if it's a turbo.
Saab 900 Turbo, this is the Carlsson UK limited edition, 1 of only 600 made.
Sunbeam Alpine.
All the best,
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
The weather was pretty bad this weekend.
Just got back from a small (150 ish) car show near Taunton, couple of heavy downpours there too...Not good for June

I was hoping for better weather, if the last few weeks were anything to go by. It seems as though most people decided to stay at home instead. Pity, but there will be other shows.
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
Great pictures mate. Its a wonder anyone turns up to these meets when the weather is so poor so full credit to the ones who braved it with their pride and joys...especially the owner of that lovely 3.0S. You don't see many in Green. That GT350 Mustang just looks sooooo right don't it...beautiful A good selection of other cars too mate. Really like that Triumph Vitesse.
Andrew I was behind a Tesla Model S about 2 weeks ago at work on the bus. I was in slow moving traffic and I had one right in front of me for about 15mins. First time I seen one and due to my driving position on the bus I had a great view through the back glass to see the instrument panel...amazing ! Looks very state of the art and I bet its a dream to drive too. God knows what it looks like under the bonnet
Anyway great pictures once again and well done for getting along to this show considering the weather. And well done Andy too even though he can shelter under the gazebo with his Mr Whippy
It just shows though that the weather does not completely wash out these shows, but that's down to the determination of the owners to get their Classics "out there" for everyone to enjoy...even in the rain
All the best mate
Nick

I can't really blame the owners for not bringing out their classics when the weather is so poor, but luckily there's always some willing to brave the elements to put on a show.
I agree about the 3.0S, it's an unusual and striking colour that really suits the car.
All the best,
Andrew.

There's not much to see...
I was expecting under the bonnet to be full of Duracell batteries or something, but that's not so.

Hi Andrew,
Great pictures, pity about turnout but what was there was plenty diverse as always. My brother ran a Z28 Camaro like the one pictured, a 1987 model year. Wasn't that reliable a daily drive but was great fun. Haven't seen a tesla interior before, great looking car, that parking feature would be great for the Mrs.. Lotus Carlton a rare car when new, great to see one again.
Visiting my brother at moment, timed it to coincide with a massive car show on Australia's Gold Coast. Considering it's their winter, weather is brilliant, not jealous of him at all.. Snuck a picture in to show how bad their winter looks
All the best,
Rob

the weather in Australia looks almost as sunny as it is here!
That looks like a fantastic car show. Is it mostly American and Australian stuff, or is there a lot of European cars too?
Queen Square was a let down in comparison to how it normally is, but more people will turn up with better weather, I'm sure.
Hope you're enjoying your holiday. We're not jealous at all. Well, maybe a tiny bit!
Andrew.

Yes Andrew, mostly American muscle / fifties & Australian holdens & Utes. There were some mk1 cortinas & weirdly a few Morris minors scattered about biggest show any of us had been to, 2km of closed road seafront full of cars.Andrew 2.8i wrote: That looks like a fantastic car show. Hoping to make the July one, as you said previously, the clash with another event probably didn't help. There's nothing like the queen square meet, looking forward to it.Andrew 2.8i wrote: Queen Square was a let down in comparison to how it normally is, but more people will turn up with better weather, I'm sure.

Re: Queen Square June 2016
Hi Rob,
As I've always said, there's at least half a dozen Morris Minor at every car show, even in Oz it would appear!
Andrew.
