Box Hill April 16 / A WET Day!!!
Hi all,
Just home having had a Week End out and about in the Capri, Down Box Hill, Up to Cambridge then eventually back home. A GREAT Day for driving today, really enjoyed it.... Yesterday morning though was another matter. Got up nice and early to a bright morning, washed the Cappa and set off down to Box Hill, halfway there, the Heavens opened.... Oh well, I'm not far off now and even if there's no one else there, I can get a Great Burger and Coffee... WOW!!! How wrong I was, a GREAT turn out, loads to see and spent a few Hours there. So here goes then...
A LINE of Capri's.... More showed up through the morning....

Hi John,
Brilliant pics
Thanks for sharing them fella. I was really looking forward to seeing them. You was right when you said there was a decent number of Capri's. That Silver Mk3 is interesting John. Wonder why the owner decided to fit the number plate in the corner...not seen this on a Capri before ? Lovely Capri though.
And the rest of the fords are great too John. What a superb turnout in the weather conditions too. That poor chap drying off his stunning blue escort looked a bit resigned to the fact he was fighting a losing battle if that umbrella up in the background is anything to go by but as you said mate....dedication
Thanks again for the great pics fella. Yours always looks stunning mate and judging by the pics the only Lacquer Red one too
All the best
Nick
Ps I will check out that you tube video too....m

Looks like you had a good day John Despite the rain it's nice to see that sort of turnout.(By the way it was sunny in Devon)
Your car still looks and sounds great, I remember when it was for sale a few years ago with 19000 miles on it, and I was tempted to look at it...
It must have 20000 on it now?

Hi John
Great pics and a good turnout to boot, just my sort of day.. The guy drying off the car reminds me of some of the mad things I've done and still do..!
Yours looks and sounds great in the video, I didn't realise you bought it with only 19k on the clock...very nice..

Hi John,
Great photos, thanks for posting. I can't believe the fantastic turnout for such a miserable day, some very tasty cars indeed. Am I right in thinking that the bronze Mk2 Capri is the one that Steve restored? Looks very nice in the photos and in Mk1 Keiran's video
You're very fortunate to have great meets like this within reasonable driving distance of your house. Jealous? Me? Never.......well maybe a little bit......OK then, a lot!!!
I've just watched the video. Your car looks and sounds superb, John.
All the best,
Andrew.

Re: Box Hill April 16 / A WET Day!!!
Morning Chaps,
This was a crazy gathering I can confirm, so many there in such poor weather, but this made it all the better some how.
Peter,
I'm not too sure how often these Box Hill gatherings are, I keep an eye on 'Old Skool Ford' and watch out for any events they are arranging, including the Box Hill one, when I next spot one, I can send out a message to let you all know, it is a good place to gather with great food...
Andrew,
Happily Andy answered your question on the Gold MKII, all I can add is, it was stunning!!! It is a shame there are not more nearer to yourself and poor Dess come to that!!! But, you do have to trawl through the crap etc on the Internet to find them local or close to you, but I do accept we are some what spoilt in the London area.... Sorry!!!
Andy,
Yep, mine is that very car as you know, if only it was still the low mileage it was when I got it, but I'm afraid I'm a different Beast to your good self, I just wanted a Capri I could jump in and use from the word go... Phil up at Capri Care, does like to point out there is only one thing wrong with this Capri and that is 'Me'!!! just coming up to 40K now I'm afraid, but I'm enjoying every turn of the wheels, so its worth it... I would have been happy to get a Re-Built car, but this one came up, just at the right time....
Hey Nick, Rob, cheers for looking too, the Weather was definitely better over in Bristol with Andrew, Mark & Neil I can say, but still very enjoyable as I say, weird!!! Well, all for now, many thanks for looking and enjoying the pic's, till the next gathering, Cheers for now,
John...
