Castle Combe Action Day 2/4/16
Had a fantastic day out today with my boys at Castle Combe, their first meet of the year. The sun shone & the track action & show was excellent. As usual, took far too many pictures so thought some of you might like to see the Fords in attendance, not many capris but plenty of others, enjoy,
Cougars were well supported though,
Plenty of great Escorts in attendance,
Other great fords were dotted all around the showground, these were just a taste,
Track action was pretty much all day including drifting by jap cars plus these two escorts,
Friends from work Jonathan & Luke brought along their trackday weapons for a bit of fun which unfortunately ended in disaster for luke. A real shame as you couldn't ask for a more likeable & helpful pair of guys,
Just after this picture was taken of them battling it out on the track, Lukes axle gave way resulting in a nasty off. Luckily no one was hurt but escort requires a touch of panel beating to put right, a real shame for a nice guy,
Not to end on a sour note, thought I'd post a picture of my favourite car of the day, couldn't fault it, what a stunning car,
Thanks for looking,
Rob

Hi Rob,
What a fantastic day out you must have had. The cars look stunning, thanks for sharing the photos of them. A bit of a boring choice, but my favourite looking car is the yellow 1600 sport.
I'm gutted for your friend Luke. It's only a small consolation, but the damage to the Escort doesn't look as bad as it could have been, and at least nobody was injured.
All the best,
Andrew.

Brilliant pictures Rob. Nice one fella. Love Em All !! What a splendid array of stunning Fords. Fantastic weather too Rob...its official...the show season is well and truely upon us
Rob thanks for highlighting the Fords. Sone absolute stunners. I think that pale blue (green???) RS2000 is so God Dam Stunning !! Wow ! Love the Green Escort Van too. Stunning Capri's too Rob. What a fantastic show.
As already said gutting for your mate Luke but nothing that can't be mended by the sound of it and most importantly he is ok albeit a bit upset no doubt. Looked like great action on thd track though.
Glad you chaps enjoyed yourselves.
All the best
Nick

Nothing boring about that choice it was a great car, as was the other vinyl roofed escort, the blue RS2000.Andrew 2.8i wrote:A bit of a boring choice, but my favourite looking car is the yellow 1600 sport.
Cheers Andrew, he was understandably gutted but it was only metal that was damaged so once repaired he'll be back enjoying it.Andrew 2.8i wrote: I'm gutted for your friend Luke. Cheers, It was excellent Nick, really enjoyed it, I agree with the RS2000, it looked amazing in the sun & its interior was in great original spec condition. The escort van was a promotional vehicle for cosworth conversions & was built to an exceptional standard.Fordoholic Nick wrote: Rob thanks for highlighting the Fords. Sone absolute stunners. It is a good day out John, we make the trip once a year, but it was so good we may be going some more this year. Escorts on show were excellent, easily the best presented cars there.Taff50ish wrote: Great pics there fella and what looks and sounds like a cracking day out!!! Dammit.
I should have checked on here before I went.
We were on show stand next to that white Capri in a 205 gti in red with an mi16 2.0 lump in. Took it round the track! Was a great day, I live just down the road in Chippenham!
There's always next time!

That 205 must shift with that engine, glad you enjoyed track time. If we lived that close we'd go a lot more, you're right it was a great daysparks wrote: We were on show stand next to that white Capri in a 205 gti in red with an mi16 2.0 lump in.
