RSFFE meet 11th October
RSFFE meet 11th October
Popped along to the RSFFE meet today at the new Farnborough FC ground venue. Had a great drive there with Brooky in convoy, followed by nice breakfast and a chat with Kris and some other fellow Ford owners
Here's some photo's
Starting with the Capri's
Nice one of Marks
Some great Mk1 Escorts
2 very tidy Anglia's
A stunning Cossie
And another
My favourite's
Still not sure about four doors?
And a nice RS turbo to end on
This is a really great meet and definitely worth a visit if you live near Farnborough.
All the best
Neil

Re: RSFFE meet 11th October
Hi Neil,
Thanks for posting the photos of what looks like a fantastic meet.
All the Fords look superb, but it's the Capris that really stand out.
Please excuse my ignorance, but is this a breakfast meet?
All the best,
Andrew.

Re: RSFFE meet 11th October
Thanks Andrew. Yes its a breakfast meet once a month like Queens Square and on the same Sunday. They also do an evening meet once a month at the same venue, but its a bit far for me in the week. They also do a lot of other events, so its a great little friendly club with a Forum http://rsffe.proboards.com and Facebook page.Andrew 2.8i wrote:Hi Neil,

Yeah great to catch up with you again Kris. Who would have thought the weather would be this good in October! You never know I might pop along in November If not I'll definitely be trying to get to a few more meets your way next year.2litreScapri wrote:Good seeing you guys today, always good to get out & about probably for one of the last times this year
Re: RSFFE meet 11th October
Me and Mark will probably alternate this meet and Queens Square next year, as both meets are good. Unfortunately for you it would be a very long drive from Wales.Andrew 2.8i wrote:sheff wrote:[Yes its a breakfast meet once a month like Queens Square and on the same Sunday.

Unfortunately, it looks like it's about 4 hours away. Pity. Although if it falls on the same day next year as John's Uxbridge show, it might be possible for me to go along for a look-see.
All the best,
Andrew.
Re: RSFFE meet 11th October
The RSFFE meet starts at 10am. We could meet up with a few others from the forum, then drive onto Uxbridge in convoyAndrew 2.8i wrote:Hi Neil, sheff wrote:Unfortunately for you it would be a very long drive from Wales.

Sounds like a plan, if it is scheduled for the same day.
How long does the RSFFE meet usually go on for?
Andrew.

Hi Neil.
Great pics mate. Love the pic of the three Capris fella. You, Mark and Kris doing us proud. All your Capris look superb as ever. Nice one
I would defibately have joined you chaps for this great little meet if I were not up 'ere in Yorkshire visiting my parents. My "Fordoholic Watch" has drawn a blank so far apart from some modern fiesta's and focus', so it was great to see your pics of "Fordoholic" classics to cheer me up
Neil I must admit I do love that Yellow RS2000 with Four doors( ) as its an original rare Austalian Ford RS factory fitted with the four doors( ) its rariety alone is fantastic as they just dont show up that often. Remember seeing it at a previous RSFFE meet
Sounds like a superb plan to fit in this meet and uxbridge in the same day next year. I hope to God I can make it ! Two convoys en route to two great meets !
Thanks again for the pics. Hope you had a good drive home. Bet you got some attention or what !
Cheers fella
Nick

Re: RSFFE meet 11th October
Thanks for posting these Neil, it's great to see an all ford meet. Good cross section of cars, especially like that Sierra cosworth, but as it was when they were new I'd still take a Capri , any one of yours would do nicely!
Great you could convoy on the way, looking forward to doing the same to the odd show next year. By the way, why the shock on Kris' face in the second picture, has he spotted a spec of dust on the boot lid ?

Re: RSFFE meet 11th October
To be honest I'm not sure what time it finishes. We left about 1pm and most had gone by then. If we were going onto Uxbridge, we would need to leave the RSFFE meet about 12pm to give us enough time at Uxbridge.Andrew 2.8i wrote:Hi Neil, sheff wrote:The RSFFE meet starts at 10am. Re: RSFFE meet 11th October
Cheers Rob and I'm with you if I had to choose it would be a Capri first. I was saying to Mark at the meet "I love Escorts, but I'm not sure I would get as much pleasure out of one as I do the Capri".Freelanderfan wrote:Thanks for posting these Neil, it's great to see an all ford meet. Not sure what Kris was shocked about, but it certainly wouldn't have been a spec of dust. The car doesn't look too bad in the photo but it was in fact quite dusty, as I hadn't felt great the day before due to too much so it didn't get the planned pre meet clean up.

Yeah had a great drive there and back I was trying to use up the fuel in my tank on the way home, ready to remove it for a refurb. Got a bit nervous when I hit the red 20 miles from home, so stuck a fiver in and then had a bit more fun
All the best

Re: RSFFE meet 11th October
Hi Neil,
Cheers for posting these pics, even if it is just to show me what I missed this time round!!! How was the Free Breakfast for the Capri Drivers???
Must try to make this if it's on again next Month. As to Andrews idea for the Breakfast meet here, then on to Uxbridge. Brilliant!!! Definitely up for that, but it means we'll have to miss showing Nick.... But there is a Breakfast in it, so all good!!!
Well, all for now, cheers chaps, all the best,
John...

Re: RSFFE meet 11th October
Hi John,
Yes the breakfast there gets mine and Mark's seal of approval! The only issue was the very slow service as they were a person down in the kit chen. On a plus side they were handing out free tea and coffee all morning, which was a nice touch
Sounds like the RSFFE/Uxbridge day has a bit of interest. Hopefully they will fall on the same day, as it looks like we could have a bit of interest. If some of the cars from the RSFFE join us it could be a very interesting convoy
Hope you're having a good time on your biker bash.
Neil

Re: RSFFE meet 11th October
Looks like the Uxbridge show is on the 17th July next year http://www.uxbridgeautoshow.com/.
That's the 3rd Sunday in July, which doesn't fall on the same Sunday as the usual RSFFE breakfast meet unfortunately. Its too far away at the moment, but possibly something could be arranged with the RSFFE club to have an early meet at Farnborough then travel on from there in convoy to the Uxbridge show
All the best

Re: RSFFE meet 11th October
I am sure kris and the RSFFE guys could do an extra meet that month at farnborough for us to have breakfast and then all travel to uxbridge, its in the diary already, would be a great meeting point for quite a few of us.
If weather is same in November I am up for going again to this one as it was a nice easy drive and some good motors to see with some good grub, what better way to spend a sunday morning.
Nice pictures Neil,, I also prefer the 2 door although the yellow RS is a very nice looking car.
