Hi Chaps,
I went to this local show today for the first time and was very impressed indeed ! Had heard previously that it was worth going to but did not expect it to be so good. Bigger than I thought but still not quite as big as Uxbridge or Battlesbridge but so worth a visit. Definitely one I will be attending again next year. Turned up not knowing if there would be many Capri's there and ended up parking up with about eight beauties...a couple of whom I seen before.
John, thanks for trying to get down on your way home from your weekend away mate Shame you did not quite make it but nice one for making the effort even though you got so close too
Anyway chaps I had some "issues" with my mobile battery but still managed to get a few photo's of the day. Hope you like....
Starting with the Capri's...
John will recognise this 2.8i. We seen it a couple of times now. Has an "unusual" vent of some kind in front grill

All the best
Nick
PS There was a cracking XR Southern Branch stand but I did not manage to get any pics in the end. Bloody mobile was playing up. Ok...battery was drained ! Sorry Andy

Hi Nick,
Some great looking cars there, and what great weather for September
Maybe we need to SORN the cars over the summer and drive during the winter months
Shame you couldn't get some XR Stand pics, but at least you got your car on display at long last, and test drove the new chair

Great set of pictures Nick & good mix of Capris, can't pic a favourite as they all look so well turned out. The burgundy coloured mk1 cortina looked amazing as did that black ford pilot in your vintage cars shots. Mk1 fiestas seem to be getting more popular at shows too. Yours looking shiny as ever mate, have you been borrowing John's old turtlewax
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Capel Manor Classic and Vintage Car Show
Hi Nick,
What an amazing show, with a fantastic selection of cars, especially the Capris. I also love that V8 Cortina, brilliant!
Your car looks amazing as ever, what a super deep shine.
You had gorgeous weather as well, by the looks of it.
By the way, the white car, 7 CAD, is a bit of an custom job by the looks of it. It looks like the back half of a Cadillac Seville, but the front half is definitely an Excalibur. It's registered as a Cadillac, but was manufactured in 1980.....
All the best,
Andrew.

Thanks fella. Yes amazing weather for september and great to see so many cars out yesterday. Reckon cause its been a bad year for "Sunday's" that lots of people got their classics out before the winter sets in but judging by the forecasters looks like we gonna get a good run of some decent weather heading towards the "hibernation" months .
Andy The XR Stand was over the far side and I saw them too late to be able to get any pics while my mobile was working but a great showing yet again. They always put on a good show don't they
And yes mate was great to get my car on display at one of these shows AND to finally try out my Quest Elite Deluxe chair too. The drink holder is fantastic for my diet coke
All the best mate
Nick

I really enjoyed yesterday. Was wondering if there was gonna be many Capri's there and I was not disappointed one bit. The white 3.0S had an interior to due for. Gorgeous brown carla check in mint condition. And to think the owner of this also owned the superb 2.8i beside it too. What a lucky guy !!
Rob that burgundy "tina" looked even better in the flesh mate. It was absolutely stunning. Hard to believe he was brave enough to drive it there let alone park it on grass
Rob I have said it before and I will say it again, I really really like the early Fiesta's and whilst there was only a few yesterday they really are putting in big appearances now at these shows just like you said. They starting to get very sought after now. I can see why. The white XR's are fabulous cars. There was a lovely one on the XR Stand but I did not get a photo of it
The vintage cars were amazing too. Sublime condition and a joy to see them drive in to park up.
There were a lot of beautiful mini's yesterday too. Your son would really have enjoyed looking at them. Lovely cars.
Thanks again mate.
All the best
Nick
Ps Thanks for your kind words on mine mate. It was the only Lacquer Red Capri there yesterday but only cause John did not make it in the end ! Never tire of parking up beside his fantastic 2.8i so it felt a bit strange being on own, but Mrs Fordoholic Nick popped up with some packed lunch and a mate popped up for a couple of hours too so I was not too lonely after all

Hi Nick,
No photos of the Quest Elite Deluxe Foldable chair with adjustable reclining positions, with adjustable height arm rest with drinks holder incorporated into one of them?
By the way, I love that Skoda Rapid 130 coupe you've parked next to. I haven't seen one of those for years.
Andrew.

Thanks fella ! Yep there really was a great showing of Capri's. Have definately seen a couple before so was great to see them again. That 2.0S with the Led front lights and "other" mods did look really cool but think it could upset some purists. But I said it before as lovely as it is to see great examples of original Capri's its still really nice to see what "mods" people have done to their Capri's too just to be a bit different. As long as they dont go too far...but how far is too far
Thanks for the info on the "Caddy" with "mods" ! I could not think what the front of it was but you just resolved that. Nice one How the dickens he got it through the gate into the grounds god only knows. Its was seriously big !
Thanks again for your comments Andrew. It really was a fantastic show with such a superb display of classics and only a 15/20 min drive home afterwards. I even beat Mrs F home and she left in the Fiesta before me but us exhibitors had a "quick lane" exit out of the venue...what a great show
All the best Andrew

Re: Capel Manor Classic and Vintage Car Show
Hey Nick,
Great Pic's there fella. Real sorry I missed you at this show, but I must say, it was probably a Blessing, seeing the Shin on yours. I had been up Cambridge, celebrating a Birthday, as I might have mentioned to you... then a nice Country Lane drive over to Duxford, then down the M11 to try n get there, so needless to say, my Cappa was a bit covered in Muck!!! But what driving Roads they are, all Unclassified back roads, round Foxton, Fowlmere, Thriplow etc... NICE!!! But I was just too late, as I texted you, I got stuck in the Que approx 4:30PM, having missed the Right turn off the A10, but what a car to get stuck behind, a Camaro Z28, Bright yellow, with a Rumbling Tick Over to Die for!!!
As to the Perana, it does look familiar too, but can't swear to it, I even had a look through my Pic's of the Brooklands Morning at South Mimms, but could not see this, but it does not mean it was not there of course!!! As to the one with the Air Intake, yep, definitely see this one around quite a bit and at Uxbridge, as you say!!! Still looking good!!!
Here's to the next Show Nick, hope I can make it!!! All the very best,
John...
