A Little bit of Classic Ford Box Hill - August 15

Post by Taff50ish »

Hi All,

Finally I got along to one of the Classic Ford meets at Box Hill. I used to go down here most Sundays on the Motor Bike, years ago now, so this was a nice change for me. Unfortunately though, getting down there would have been much easier on the Bike to be honest. I got stuck in a Traffic Jam from Hell on the M25, it's not even that bad going to work on a Monday morning.... :swear: Although the monotony was broken by a Light Blue Cappa stuck in slow moving traffic on the Clock Wise carriage way, between the M3 & M4, who kindly Tooted their Horn and woke me up for a Wave!!!  :applaud:

Anyhow, onto the few pics I took, as it was quite late when I eventually turned up. But met Kris and Mags, and a few others, so all was well...

So here's the Capri's.....
Mags amazing Silver Laser I saw down the Ace on Capri day....

It would be Rude not to post a pic of Kris's motor too.... A side not often seen...

Still looks Great though... And those Wheels..... What Presence!!!

Look at the Shine on this 280....

So this brings me onto the Escorts nicely.....

Well, that's pretty much it. Even though I was rather late and most had left I feel, these few cars where very well worth seeing and I had a great wonder round, though I didn't have that much time there either, as I had to get back now to play with 2 Mucky Blonde's!!! My mates Golden Retriever's, if I hadn't let them out, they would have possibly bitten me in the Nuts!!!

Oh!!! I did finally get onto one of MKIKieran's Video's!!! He missed me at the Jolly Farmer earlier this year!!!

Not all that impressive, as I didn't light up my Rear Tyre's, but I still like this little shot, approx 7Mins 15Secs in...... 1st time I've seen it from outside while being driven... Well, that's all, cheers for now,

John...... :drive:

Hi John,

Great photos mate. Nice one :applaud:

The stand out car for me has to be Mags Silver Laser...the more photos I see of it the more splendid it looks. Beautiful colour and the condition of it is as you say is simply amazing. From what a couple of people have said (yourself included John) Mags is a great person to meet too. Hopefully our paths will cross soon as I am dying to see this Laser and Mags in the flesh :D

That 280 looked fantastic too mate. What a shine it had.

Escorts always look the part don't they just and these ones certainly do not disappoint at all :D

Thanks again for posting these John. You should have put up a photo of your beauty too fella.

Oh yeah, almost forgot  the video of you is superb mate...you might not have "smoked" your way out but you were not hanging around either mate...you were off and gone in no time...I would still be selecting third gear by the time you were out of sight  :xd: :applaud:

All the best John

Nick

Hi John,
Fantastic photos and video, thanks for posting them.
A fantastic standard of Fords in general and Capris in particular, your car looks superb as ever.
What a treat making the final cut in one of Mk1Keiran's videos too, that would have made my day. :D
As Andy says, quite a swift exit there, were you trying to catch up with the black Capri JDP959W that left just before? As Andy says, you made the perfect getaway, swift without doing wheelspins/burnouts and looking like a tit!

All the best,
Andrew.

I was talking with a chap a couple of weeks ago that runs 'Old Skool Fords South West', and he said whenever someone complains about Ford Drivers doing Burn Outs or Doughnuts etc at these events inc Boxhill, although its not in his area the Police contact him as his name comes up as being part of the Classic/Old Ford Scene........So these people are causing a 'Knock On Effect' IMO, He's not happy either
