Battlesbridge Classic Ford and Autojumble Show

Post by Fordoholic Nick »

Hi chaps,

Well as I just said over on the other thread here goes with some pictures...

Once again I have to say this show pretty much blew me away. Fantastic ! The number of Classic Fords was amazing... Big up for Essex :applaud: And as for the Capri's...every fourth or fifth car seemed to be a Capri...( ok, maybe a slight exaggeration but I still buzzing from this show  )...but not too far off. There were so many more than we saw (or did not see) at Ford Fair...and there were only a few Ford Focus at this one :)

Anyway chaps, I had a really enjoyable day out with John and his mate Jim. Hope you enjoy the pics. I usually like to take a pic of the rear end of the cars but a lot of the deckchair brigade owners were sitting behind their beloved Fords so I could not get as many close up "rear" shots :(

Starting with the Capris...

This stunning two tone 2.8i was in the general car park !

Phew, that's it now folks ! My laptop is starting to overheat now. Like I said earlier there were still MORE Capri's and loads more other Ford's I missed and I took 122 pics today

Hope this gives you an idea hoe great this show is. Definitely one for the calendar next year. Put it in your diaries :D

Hope you enjoyed looking through these. I had a cracking time taking them all...

All the best

Nick

Hi Nick,
Wow what a great show.... I'll have to get along to that one next year. I recognise a few of the Capris from the Ace meet, but the favourite for me is the MK1 Escort 1300E you captured in the carpark.

Thanks for posting the lovely photo's and glad you had a great day

Hi Nick,
What a fantastic show, and thanks for posting these brilliant photos of the cars. I thought I had a good day at Queen Square, but you've certainly trumped me!
I have too many favourites to list, but a special mention to the Cortina Convertible. Love it! :D
And all the Capris as well, of course.

All the best,
Andrew.

Hi Nick, seeing all those Capris in a show would have made it for me, all the other cars would have been a bonus :D
Weather was stunning too, brings out all the best cars. That x pack capri looked moody in dark green, wouldn't mind owning that along with that brown mk3 cortina. Not colours I would normally choose but the sun made them look great! Good turn out of mk2 capris too, don't see hardly any in local shows. Great pictures.
Cheers

Hi Nick,
Great pics and weather.......(unlike today)
I recognise a few of those Capri's....and selling that 4 speed

Only 1 XR pic though......Must try harder  But a couple of S1 RS Turbos :D

I'm one of the 'deckchair brigade' and a Gazebo I'll have you know, usually with a Mr Whippy too

Yours and Johns Cars should be in with the thick of it IMO.....far too good to be in the Visitors Carpark. Must try harder...again

Hi Neil.

Thanks mate. It really would be worth your trip up from Bournemouth to get to this one next year. Amazing number of Capri's but also a superb selection of other Ford's too...even in the car park like that stunning Mk1 Escort you liked. There were so many more I did not photograph too.

All the best mate. Glad you enjoyed the pics.

Thanks Andrew

I had a great time taking all these pics :D

Mate I always look forward to your Queens Square pics. This show though is a fordoholics sweet shop ! So lucky to get so many in one place. We were saying recently here about maybe making Uxbridge a "meet up" show next year. After yesterday at Battlesbridge we now have a choice of two stunning shows to arrange a "meet up" next year.

All the best mate

Hi Rob.

Yep mate. Could not have put it better myself.. although I have tried

Just like you said fella, the sun always brings out the best in these already stunning cars. Could not stop :D all day !
Unbelievable selection of Capri's here and like you say some off which you do not see so many all in one place. And on top of this a wonderful selection of "other ford's" to drool over too. Glad you enjoyed them all....

Hi Andy.

Mate I got nothing against this at all. I would Def be doing the same too if I was showing my Laser. I was just itching to get some nice "rear end" pics of their stunning cars :)

Ermmm....not too sure about the Mr Whippy though mate...that's going a bit too far for me :xd:

Andy there were lots of XR'S there mate. Some stunning ones at that. I will Def try harder next time to get more pics of these next year. So many Capri's got me in a spin :)

I also hate it when that happens. If I see an unusual car that I like, I want to photograph it from all angles. I know the car belongs to the people in the deckchair, but I don't want them in my photos! :D On the rare occasion I do take a chair to a show, I always move if someone wants to take a photo. I'm good like that! That's the beauty of Queen Square as well, not a chair to be seen. Just those silly wooden railings and posts to ruin the shot instead! :banghead:

Yes, this show could be a back-up in case Uxbridge is a wash out.

I took 684. Looks like I am a car nerd after all! 3.37GB of photos.
