Hi again,

Yep, nearly went off topic there, to quickly get us back on this and the Manta, you're right, you don't see many about on the roads now-a-days, but I did see a cracking line up at the Uxbridge Fair last Year, hope you don't mind me posting one quick pic Andrew...

Like I say, quite a few and yes, your right, the Coupe every time!!!! Cheers,

John...

John,
Great photo, thanks for posting. Coupe with twin headlights is definitely the way to go with the later Mantas, like this Irmscher i200 model.

Hi Andrew,

Only just had a chance to look through your excellent pics you posted from the recent Queen Square meet you attended mate. Yet again a fantastic array of beautiful cars. This meet never disappoints by the reports we get from you fella and it says a lot for how good this show must be that you take the time to make this a regular trip...even without the 2.8i sometimes :)

As everyone has already mentioned some cracking cars it just leaves me, if I may, to make a special mention of that lovely de-bumpered Red Mk1 Escort...looks well cool...as does the Mk2 White Escort too....simply wonderful. You may have guessed I have a soft spot for the escorts. Too many cars worthy of a mention here so I will just applaud you for taking the time to take and post the pics of them for us to enjoy.

I am already looking forward to your next "monthly" report of Queen Square....weather permitting of course !

Oh yeah sorry Andrew, but you did not say which one of these cars was the "daily drive" you decided to bring rather than the 2.8i :)

All the best

Nick

Hi Nick,
I'm pleased that you like the photos. I'm going to try to get to this one every month this year, except if there is a clash with another show. As long as the weather is OK, it's worth going to this meet, as even on a cold February morning there was an excellent turn out of cars.

Just for you Nick, here's a photo of my daily.

Fair play Andrew, looking at your MR2 engine bay photo, your daily must be as clean as your Capri, you're not a vehicle detailer are you? I've never had a daily that looks that clean under the bonnet :D Getting back to the Manta, owned a coupe & hatch in the past, loved the coupe, never felt the same with the hatch. There were a couple of these at the NEC in November & they drew a lot of interest, still like them, especially the twin headlight 'exclusive' model.

Cheers, Rob.

Hi Rob,
Thanks, for your comment. I wish I had noticed that little brown mark on the exhaust manifold heatshield before I took the photo! I should take up detailing, as I really enjoy cleaning parts of the car, and can happily spend hours and hours out in the garage.
Back to the Manta, it's interesting to note how many people prefer the coupe to the hatch. I wonder how well a Mk3 Capri coupe would have been received?
Andrew.

Hi Andrew, no need to worry about the photos there great, thanks for sharing them, the Avenger Tiger that must be a rare care, I remember a guy getting a standard one i think in 1971 we all thought it looked great, though the Tiger still looks good now,

Dave.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your comments, I'm glad you like the photos.

I couldn't agree more, I love the look of the Tiger. It's the yellow paint and contrasting black bonnet and stripes that do it for me. Plus the rostyles and rear spoiler suit it perfecty.
There are only 16 currently licensed, so quite rare.
Andrew.
