Hi Andrew,

Fantastic pics mate. What a cracking lot of cars.

Some proper beauties...especially the Fords :D

Looked like you had a great day what with the weather too.

Bet your car got some attention ! Only one other Capri there apart from yours ?

I am going to Ford Fair in August at Silverstone but its getting too big these days. Need to set off before dawn to get in near the front of queue. I really like the smaller more informal shows like what you were at today.

Santa Pod is a great show cause it aint so big as Ford Fair but still has so much to offer.

By the way your phone takes brilliant pics fella. Just as good as a proper camera.

Hi Nick,
Yes, just the two Capris here, both of them injections.
I really like this meet as it's not organised as such, it's just an impromptu gathering for a few hours in the morning. It doesn't seem to be widely advertised, but as long as the weather is good there is always an incredible turnout of cars and crowds. Of course, being held on the streets all the cars are driven there and not a trailer queen to be seen! :)
Perhaps we could get a gathering of us from the forum to attend some time in the future, that would be fun! If a group of Mazda MX5s can attend and draw the crowds, I'm sure five or so Capris will be popular!

Hope you have a good time at the Ford Fair. :)

Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

That sounds like a great idea about trying to get a few Capris to turn up at your Bristol meet mate. Would certainly get some attention and like you said if the Mazda chaps can do it..... !

People always seem to have a bit of a soft spot for the Capri whenever they see one. It obviously throws up lots of memories :)

As big as it is I still looking forward to Ford Fair. Anywhere you get to see such a number of Classic Fords has to be a good thing... but a gathering of 40 identical purple Ford Focus ST side by side maybe going a tad too far for me...

Will take some pics

Hi Andrew,
Nice set of cars there for sure. I especially like the Mustang Fast Back, RS2000 and I hate to admit it, but a soft spot for the Avenger.... I'm weird I know... Goes with out saying for the MKI Escort's, what is it about them???
Good to see you got out over the week End as the BBQ / Swap meet was rained off on the Sat. Sorry to hear about that.. But Sunday was a cracker and too good to waste. I went up to Wonderland, Nottingham / Newark. Posting Pic's soon. Cheers,

John...

Hi John,
Yes, what IS it about the Escort?
You're right, it was a lovely morning and way too good to waste. It was actually the first time I've managed to get out and about so far this year. Hopefully there will be plenty more shows and get-togethers to attend during the summer. I'm off to the classic car show at Berkeley Castle this Sunday, weather permitting. Fingers crossed!
I hope you had a good weekend too. You must have been to a show every weekend this year so far! Talk about a hectic lifestyle! :)

All the best,
Andrew.

Hi Andrew, looks like a fantastic meet, I prefer the informal gatherings like that, nice and easy and something for everyone, eh?

The setting looks familiar too, is that Queen's Square gardens you're all parked around?

Hi Mike,
Yes, that's the one! Queen's Square makes the perfect setting for this kind of gathering, especially in glorious sunshine. :)
The only criticism I have of this meet is that it doesn't go on for very long. Everyone starts dispersing around 10.30-11.00 or so. If you want time to see everything you can only have a very brief chat with a few of the car owners.

Yes I thought so, Trucker's nose never forgets

I've had the dubious pleasure of negotiating my way around there at 6 in the morning in the pitch dark with a 45ft trailer hanging out the back with half the lanes shut off with hoardings for roadworks - you don't forget those sort of places in a hurry
