That's not the correct one for a mk3, sadly. As far as I know, nobody makes the correct repro VIN plates for the mark 3. NOS items used to pop up for sale every now again on Ebay, but I haven't seen one for a while.Lord Flasheart wrote:https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-Ford ... SwR6RaLpI0

Early mk3’s have the same plates as late mk2’s, both assembled in Germany I think they may change around 81. The one in the image looks correct for an early mk3, I got one for mine so I know you can get them, I may have got it from classic plates in Pinner

It was more for the sellers details than the actual item.
Give them a call, I have in the past for stuff that was similar to what I was after, though not the item that was for sale & they came up trumps …. cant hurt getting in touch.
Or you could try these, they might be able to point you in the right direction

In addition to the helpful suggestions above, it might be a good idea to search through the completed auctions on Ebay. That might give you more leads to chase up some potential sellers.

I wasn't sure about that, I assume that the style of the VIN plate changed the same time that that the stamped chassis number moved to the driver's floorpan?Arnoldhar wrote:Early mk3’s have the same plates as late mk2’s, both assembled in Germany I think they may change around 81.
The OP has posted a photo of an '83/'84 S on an A plate, I assume that's the car that the VIN plate is needed for.
