1.6 Laser Restoration

Post by Simmo1337 »

Hi guys,

I've got my Capri back on the road! All in all, she's not in too bad condition, but there's quite a few things I'd like to change and make better, so I thought I'd make a new topic to hold all the changes I make, and post anything that might be of use to people in the future.

So far, I've had all the dash out to get to the heater motor and Speedo, and fix a pesky short that I had.

Today, I took off my cam belt cover and battery retainer plate, sandblasted them, and powder coated them! Luckily, my Dad owns a company that does customisation on (mainly) motorbikes. So, they have sandblasters powder coating machines etc. (If any ones interested in getting something done send me a PM and I can give you his details).

But I think it turned out pretty good so far! I'll slowly be going around and tidying up things as and when - need to fix my bouncy Speedo first though! (See my other post :crying: )

Hi,
Great looking car!
Good work with the powder coating. Stuff like that really helps to improve the look of the engine compartment. 8-)

Andrew.
