Very true that is, just cleaning one small item in there and putting it back in, makes a big overall difference!

I spoke to a elderly gent at this years CCI and I loved he’s way of life as he said around 1pm he gets his crossword and heads down to his man cave ( garage) and sits in a chair looking at his Capri doing his crossword and if I think that bolt or nut could do with a clean I will give it the love that you should .

He must have been around 80 but what a grand life .

Andrew I could spend my days like that very easy , So back to part Two of the coolent bottom so she had almost a week in bleach with a good scrub down using a toothbrush ( lucky the mother in law has a spare here to use ) so then back in the bucket of bleach .
So yes has cleaned up really well but I still think she has a touch of yellow so I am going for a acid type clock cleaning solution.
It might be the biggest mistake but worth a play .

Hi Jason,
I think it looks really good as it is, and what a transformation from how it was before.
It would be a shame to damage it by trying to clean it further in a cleaning solution that may react with the aged plastic.

It’s still yellowish so I hoping this stuff works as the camera makes it more white then it is , I should be ok have just checked and all seems fine so will wash out in the morning and check .

Fingers crossed all will be fine .

I love these mad projects and see how things can be brought back from dirt , grime , and time really . Yes need to see more of the famous Tea Towel........

I am please to inform the yellow has gone also some tiny bits of darker yellow on one side . Also I did use a lot of the solution so was able to put most back in the bottle so did not waste any .
Yes I am very pleased now .

I now wonder if I could just use the solution first ? Tempted to buy another bottle if nice and cheap then we can have a spare for anybody who needs one or could even do a swap over system .

A thought for thought message for Andrew
I wonder what and how it would come up in a ultrasonic cleaning machine ?

How's it looking now Jason?
I thought I'd give mine another polish today. My Dremel packed up halfway through the job, so I've got one tarnished washer jet and one half polished one! :banghead:

Half way through the polishing:

Now I've got to wait for a new swich to arrive for the Dremel until I can complete the job...

That looks like a good quality replica, nice find! At that price it's an absolute steal too.
