Looking for someone to restore my.2.8I in Derbyshire.

Post by frank.knight »

Hi All,

First post here so apologies if it's in the wrong section.
I've picked up a 184 2.8i which has a 2.9 BOA engine in it.
It's up and running but there are issues.

I'm looking for someone to completely restore it for me; interior and exterior and also someone who can sort the minor mechanical issues.

It's been at a garage for 3 months but it clearly wasn't the sort of work the garage were used to as nothing as happened.

Any advice / help will be gratefully received.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum! :welcome:
I can suggest some people who may be able to do the work, but obviously it's up to you to contact them and research the quality of their work etc. before committing to having your car restored or repaired with them.
The closest to you that I know of are Martin (Caprigear) who is near Louth, and Steve (SM Classic Cars) who is in Doncaster.

Best contact them to discuss your requirements and to see photos of their work etc. I hope that's been of some help.

All the best,
Andrew.

I have only ever bought parts off Martin for which he has always come up trumps for me & many many others  .... in my ignorance I didn't know he also restored them, my apologies but I can say that I have seen some of Steve's Cars & would recommend his work.

Get in touch with both of them & discuss your needs & wants for your car, its then your call :goodluck:

:agree:
I'm sure both Martin and Steve's workmanship is first rate, but to my knowledge, I've never seen either of their work first hand.
