Andy, the previous owner of my Laser told me at Beaulieu last year that he still has the original complete Laser interior and dash facia and other bits...all in his loft ! He told me he just could not part with them...but I was wondering if he was playing a bit of "poker" with me thinking I might make him an offer for the lot

Seriously though I did believe his sincerity of why he still has them all. At the time he had two Capri's, a 2.8 and B112 AAT. He said he always regretted parting ways with the "Pinto" and really should have kept it in hindsight. He almost went so far as to "indicate" he would buy it back in a flash !

But he knows B112 AAT is in good hands now

All the best

Nick

PS I will email him to let him know we will be at Beaulieu again, weather permitting. Be great to catch up with him again. Really decent bloke !

Hi Nick,
As soon as you sell something you need or want it :?

I'm sure if YOU were desperate he would do you a good deal to keep AAT on the road :)
And nice to know it has a good home waiting if the need arises.

See you soon.

Very good point you make Andy :)

Now...back to Des' restoration. Des, seeing and hearing about all the parts you have been collecting/refurbishing and storing over the last 6-8 months or so I cant wait to see B100 when its finally back on the road. It seem a long time now Des since you posted pics of that stunning interior you bought from Turbo Mike if I recall correctly. Sounds like paint shop is very close now then the very exciting part of rebuilding B100. :goodluck:

Hi Des,
You must be really pleased with how the shell has turned out, it looks spot on from the photo.

Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

Yes very pleased indeed it's very, very straight and original wings, panels etc. Matching numbers car which is why I decided to have Steve rebuild the engine ;)

Thanks Andy, I've been in and around the car game for more years than I care to remember lol, Steve is meticulous in his approach to getting the best results possible within the budget you agree from the get go. No need to ramble on about his skills etc as the results speak for that in spades and he's exceptionally busy .... On the down side he costs me a fortune in cake and biscuits :xd:

Hi Rob, I searched for ages to find a decent project before I found B100 in Northern Ireland, I get lots of stick over the colour Lacquer Red but I love it and it looks fantastic when it's painted right so I'll post an update in the next week or two :D

Wow Des ! Looks absolutely superb mate even in that light. I can only imagine how stunning it must look in natural light. Its been a while coming but well worth the wait to see it finally in paint Des. Stunning work by Steve :)

Not at all Des. Not at all. It great to see your updates here mate. Thanks for the pics. What a great restoration this is, and knowing the 'stocks' you have been building up ready for fitting it out, it will be one hell of a stunner Des. All credit to Steve for his exceptional standard of work and to you too for your dedication to this project :applaud:

Thanks Nick and there in a nutshell is the next issue, the standard of parts for the refit, all the running gear is almost done along with the engine rebuild being finished shortly. The interior I will get as close as I can but I'm not paying stupid prices for things like parcel shelves etc... It should be nice though lol.

Hi Andrew, it's certainly had much care and attention and I'm very happy with it so far. I remember our conversation some time ago about going to far and then not driving it.... I remain firm on my original stance and intend to drive the car :D

Hi Andy, so almost a year has gone by but we have been busy, honest lol. Time flies pal but getting there now, I'm still painting the gril, headlight surrounds, mirrors etc black as a change to the colour coded look to start with as I can alway change back... The purists will bark but hey ho :o

More updates later guys
