To be honest, I wasn't being serious about taking mirrors to shows as you were always adamant that the main purpose of your car is to enjoy driving it. Now you've seen the quality of the restoration, are you erring more towards saving the car for special outings only?
By the way, I've just noticed that the rear springs appear to be painted in the original grey colour. That's a nice touch and it shows the attention to detail here.

Good question Andrew, I bought a 2.0S as a run around whilst doing this and loved it, park anywhere and out in all weather's no problem. This one has turned out slightly different as I've gone way beyond my original plan of refurb but if John can drive his cracking example then I can just not quite as often as he does..
The rear springs are grey/silver and hopefully in keeping although I have decided to have two sets of grills, mirrors etc black and colour coded to swap about if I want...
Hi Des,
This is going to be one of the very best Capri's out there. Your attention to detail is top drawer, polishing the underside ?? Now you're taking it way too far ..
Seriously though, it's a shame most won't see it as the finish you are going for is simply superb. Hope I get to see the car at some stage as it looks fantastic already & it's nowhere near finished yet. Carry on the great work on this superb restoration.
All the best,
Rob

Hi Rob
Thanks for the kind comments, we are a long way away from the original plan. When we got the shell back from soda blasting the original panel's and chassis were in amazing condition so we made another plan and even that changed lol... fair to say Steve is meticulous which is great as I'm a pita....
Beautiful Des. It's better than when it rolled off the line. Surely it will be dry days only for it now, and even then a quick brush up when you get home....
God that Lacquer Red looks sooooo dam good fella. Gorgeous ! Mate dont worry about bringing mirrors to show of the stunning undercarriage....I aint a bit shy to roll around on the floor to have a peak....just ask Andrew

Your car looks great Des.... Been following it on FB and I've been very impressed with the quality of work Steve does.
Make sure he paints that back axle gloss black before he's finished Any idea when its going to be completed? I might have to drive up north to have a look

The problem is Mike we never really know when we're going to get a dry day but I know what you mean dry or wet it will get a good sorting top and bottom after a show/run out ....

It's in primer awaiting paint and hopefully the next two weeks will see it almost finished...

Chaps to put your minds at rest Des is well ! I speak to him regular on facebook. In fact was speaking to him on f/b only just today. He has been mighty busy not only with the stunning resto of B100, his 2.8i Special but now also with a lovely 3.0S !!!! He has sold the stunning 2.0S. But I will leave Des to give you the full picture
One thing is for sure whatever he turns his hand to he certainly dont do things by half

My apologies for not updating both B100 and I are well and I'll be back soon with a full update. It's been a busy few months but the engine should be back from its full rebuild within the next 10 days then it's full steam ahead. Thanks all for the kind thoughts and Nick for the kind comments... Back soon
