Hi,
I'd love a 280TT. This particular one is going to be superb when it's completed That's one lucky owner......
Steve, how long do you think it will take to complete OCF280? It looks like it's taking up all of your time at the moment.

All the best,
Andrew.

Hi andrew
yeh its a nice model to own and drive
at the min were deciding weather to go for soda blasting the car inside and out and underneath a freind of mine is having his capri done this week so will have a look at that then decide

i can have the 280 all welded up in a week and painted in three weeks but at the min the paint shop is a bit behind and there is two capris before this one but the owners not in a mega rush and i can get the engine and running gear done in the meantime

its not taking all my time up really only had two days on it so far ive got seven capris in at the min six are full restos one part resto

the janspeed is coming along nicely now the silver 3.0s is just waiting for some bits anupans 2.8 is all welded up and in the que for paint the mk2 is having its new windscreen fitted tomorrow just got the dash to refit and a valet and thats done
the x pack capri is all done and heading to the paintshop once they have finished the signal orange 3.0s that should be in the next week

Id like to get most of the areas cleaned up on the 280 and the panels ordered ready for her

I like to be in front when it comes to projects and most will notice i work fast lol

Just looking through these pictures and I noticed something on the bulkhead that I thought was a repair on mine.

Both passenger and driver side foot well, just above where the floor joins the bulkhead mine has a large (30cm x 20cm rouhgly) plate welded on. It's pressed steel which I thought had been cut out of the floor of another Capri then welded into mine as a repair.
It look like this 280 has the same, from the very limited views of it in these pictures.

Are these standard fit? What are they there for?

Do you mean behind the pedals on the drivers side and on the passeger side where the tip of your feet would sit(if you have long legs lol)?

Sorry, not a great description, I know.

In your 6th picture in this thread of the passenger foot well & inner sill just on the very edge of the image you can see what looks like a plate, or something starting where the floor pan meets the bulkhead.

I'm sure I'd noticed it on other people's restos before. I'll have to have a dig. It might be an anti-drum pad or something. When I noticed it it was too dark to take a picture or investigate very well...

lots of plates over rust ive cut in some holes for you to see
cleaned of 85% of the underseal the car will be going on the spit but i wanted to order all the panels before that as didnt want to be hanging around
no real horrors on the main section of the floor
strut top plate has been removed that needs the under side done some kind person plated it from underneath lol the triangular strenghterning plate will have to come off to as its rotted behind

Looks like a lot of excellent work going on there, well done. Will follow this with interest as I nearly bought it recently but the owner pulled out the deal.Just goes to show what a bit of paint can hide :o .

Excellent T shirt work.

The TT doesn't look too bad really considering its age, suppose your always going to find things lurking over time. At least it has a chance to get painted properly now. Great looking cars and nice to restore a TT. Good work

more done on the brooklands....getting there i remade one of the three lines and made it a bit too long so ive got that to re shape other than that thats nearly it for the passenger floor
will be doing the inner sill on the rear once the sills are ordered and arrive wanted to get the floor sorted first and the rest of the unde rseal off
ive put my dye grinder in safe place and can i find it can i buggery thats why the plug welds are still there on the bulk head where it wraps to the lip and on the outrigger :D
