Nice one Lee. Cheers mate. I am well chuffed with how the dash/radio/facia turned out I see you been well busy too with your lovely 2.8i. You doing some brilliant work there and that recent picture you posted of it out of your garage is stunning

Looking good Nick, the black dash combined with the digital radio has given your car a real lift, looking forward to fitting mine as it didn't come with any sort of radio, just a badly cut gaping hole. Just reading about your mileage in the new clock, it's really easy to swap the mile counter with your old one, they just clip out from the back. Found this by accident, dislodged mine while cleaning 30 years of dust out of the instruments wish I could have given this advice before you'd refitted it mate..
All the best Rob

Hi Rob.
Thanks very much mate. Yep the dash/radio really makes a big difference. I must get some beer towels to protect the dash top now hmmm....dont know where I got this idea from (John ) Dont forget to post up some pics when you get round to fitting yours Rob. Nice one fella

Hey Rob, this is fantastic advice mate and is not too late !
I have a slight problem with the speedo we fitted so It will be coming out to be replaced by one I ordered from Martin @ Capri Gear. I had this speedo in a cluster in garage for two years and thought it was a 2.0 one but after a test run yesterday found it was mis-reading by an unacceptable percentage so John has his suspicions its possibly a 1.6 one I had all along. Whatever it is we have come to the conclusion its the incorrect one for my 2.0. So this one will be whipped out when the new one arrives so I will definately have a look at changing over the counter unit just like you said. Brilliant tip ! I will let you know how I get on with this Rob
Cheers fella
All the best now

It's a little fiddly to do, held in by a clip & be careful not to spin the numbers but it can be done. Worth practising on your spare one first so you're comfortable with it.

Cheers Rob.
I will have a practice on my spare one like you said. Mate it would def save me the hassle of declaring the clock change plus I will still have my continued mileage...not that its original but still nice to keep it if I can
Martin did say he would have a look through the speedo's he has and send one to me as close to my original reading as possible so I will wait and see about swapping out the counter if the mileage is close enough but its great to know its possible.
Thanks for the extra tips on removing it too Rob. Very good of you fella
All the best
Nick
