Radio Knobs Restoration

Post by Fordoholic Nick »

Hi Chaps,

A very quick guide/tip to giving those beloved radio knobs/levers a new lease of life.

While waiting to have John fit my ESRT 32PS hopefully in a couple of weeks I thought I would tidy up the knobs a little. Very quick guide.

Using good old Halfords Flexible Vinyl Paint Black I gave a couple of light coats to the knobs. Waited for these to dry 15/20 mins then using this:

which has a very fine tip

I then painted the grooves of the knobs and dabbed a bit into the levers: Here's the results before/after...

After...

They turned out very well indeed. Hope this little tip helps anyone thinking to do the same.

All the best now

Nick

Thanks chaps, much appreciated.

I was well chuffed with how they turned out but you do need a steady hand when painting the grooves white and yep Rob that Halfords Flexible Vinyl Paint has done the trick again :)

They make sych a big diference now to the radio cassette :)

Thanks again chaps
