Work has started on the 2.8 like most old cars, rust has spread into the A pillar and the inner wing. I've taken the wing off and now full restoration will now take place.
Work continues on my 2.8 all old layers of underseal carefully chipped off to reveal original paint and stoneguard underneath

Re: Capri 2.8 Restoration
Hi,
It's good to see a 2.8 that's going to be restored to it's former glory, credit to you. It's in one of the best colours for a Capri, plus it's one of the rare 5 speeder non-specials.
I look forward to seeing more photos as the work progresses.
All the best,
Andrew.

Re: Capri 2.8 Restoration
Good luck with resto. As Andrew has said, the 2.8i looks great in black. Good to see another Capri getting the attention it deserves.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Capri 2.8 Restoration
Great colour and as Andrew pointed out the highly rare and desirable 5 speed non special You lucky person!
Is red over silver the correct stripping? Mines silver over red, but is possibly wrong
Looking forward to seeing this one progress

Re: Capri 2.8 Restoration
Funny, I posted on this after Neil but it's not showing. Will repeat myself. I discussed striping on another thread. Andrew checked his source material and couldn't find a Ford option to change it. I too thought that silver over red was standard for a non-special. Unless a previous owner changed it, maybe a dealer option?
Good luck with the resto. I agree black is best but I'm biased....
