MK3 2.0L Laser chop and change
Hi i have a Ford Capri 2.0L Laser and have had it for 5 years now. I first used as a an everyday car and then decided to strip it out and give a new coat of paint and parts. This took 4 years to complete due to my four ski seasons and not wanting a real job. I eventually grew up a little bit a got a big boys job recently so no more mucking about for me i am staying put.
Here is the car when i bought it.

Re: MK3 2.0L Laser chop and change
So in it went for a re-spray, welding, cutting, chopping and removing. I had all the trim around the out side removed. The aerial removed and welded. The rear wiper, spoiler, badge and boot button welded over. The battery tray was removed. Finally i had the passenger side wing mirror taken off and welded up.
I tried to save everything i could and it all got sent off for sand blasting and a new coat of paint.
New Alloys and tyres were added
I was very happy with the result.

As you can see i bought a new set of twin 40 webber carburetors. Next was to send off the interior for a some new vinyl/leather. Again i tried to do as much as i could myself by spraying the plastic interior black myself as well as the carpet.
Not a great photo

Re: MK3 2.0L Laser chop and change
I had bought new coilover springs and drilled brake discs. There are new braided hoses and complete new copper brake pipes fitted. The calipers and drums have had a complete overhaul. I have added the Land Rover master cylinder for improved braking (still not sure if there's much difference).
Almost every nut, bolt and screw is brand new with polyurethane bushes.
I have added an electric pump with mechanical pump. A king filter is in place and a pressure guage.
So heres the result

Hi,
Looking good, I see you're going for the clean uncluttered look with the body.
Is that white car on the drive a Metro/ Rover 100?
All the best,
Andrew.
