thank you =), i pay £865 with 2 years driving and 1 years no claim, i found that the laser was the only good quote you can get and they didnt seem to mine if it was a 2lt or a 1.6

I have a 1986 1-6 and been working on it for about 3 years doing hour a day after work, sometimes wonder If i will ever get to drive it let alone finish it. You find that restoring these cars takes you on one massive journey, including blood sweat and almost tears!. Keep up the good work.

thank you, tbh it's a pretty decent one to start with but i hope to make it better =)

haven't really updated much but here is an update, been actually rather busy over the last few months,

bought some single leaf springs, compomotive CX wheels, i got 2 205 block 2ltr pintos for rather cheap so i plan on fitting one of them at some point, just waiting on some money to start work on the engine and fit tyres.

anyway, fitted the leaf springs amd some poly bushes (rear anti roll bar, leaf spring bushes and bump stops), also painted a few things =)

Hi There,
Your car was looking good to begin with, but it looks even better now! :D
Have you noticed an improvement in the brakes with the upgrade kit?

All the best,
Andrew.

bit of a small update, i've fitted polybushes to the front now so 90% of the car is polybushed (inner TCA, outer TCA, ARB and steering rack). discovered the anti roll bar is a 24mm one that comes off the 2.8i too :D
I've also fitted my Comopomotive CX wheels after long last.

Hi,
Good work, the car is coming together nicely now. The new wheels look amazing.
The later Lasers also had the 24mm ARB, it wasn't just the 2.8 that had them fitted. Your car may have had it as standard.

All the best,
Andrew.

i did read that a lot of the later cars off the line had parts from after models as ford started to run out of stock so i assumed it got put on then =)

Pretty sure the 24mm was fitted to all Lasers, as mine was one of the first (made in May`84) and that has one. Just in case anybody else is wondering.

i have an update coming soon as i've fitted my coilovers at last, but for now i have a question on speakers,

i have these rather large oval speakers that were in the parcel shelf, i've since removed and will get a new parcel shelf but i want to continue using the speakers but don't know where to put them, does anyone have any good ideas??

cheers

Hi,
Great work! Could you build a box in the boot to house your big speakers and have some little ones in the original position to the side of the parcel shelf?

All the best,
Andrew.
