if i remember correctly they went to the trouble of fitting a new wing, but then sprayed it with rattle cans :headscratch:

Yes, but all was well until they decided to lacquer them, then it went pear shaped.

That's what I mean about the production values of the early shows, everything is sent off to the paint shop now.

hi all,

just a small update, cleaned the boot and have put the rear quarters of the door cards in. someone has tried to put new speakers into the blue front cards which don't actually fit into the door :banghead:  so i'm just decided on what to do next :burnout:

Progress update 2:

i decided that the blue carla check seats where just too uncommon and bad condition for me to afford to fix them.
so i opted for a better option which was buying another interior, this time at a better price and no one has cut speaker holes. :D these are half leathers, the passenger has been repaired but the previous owner and the backs and door cards are in great shape, i also have 4 front seats (-1 for passenger) to use to make one good seat out of. i think i might have to get it professionally restitched so i might get the fishnets done in leather too.

Do you think i have too many seats and cards?

Sweet ride, seems these are becoming very popular with younger drivers.

I agree love the metal plates......... I have just bought some for my car.

Andrew I can recommend these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321413552350? ... EBIDX%3AIT. They are great quality and well worth the price.

All the best

Great car! :D just out of interest what's your insurance like on it? I have a '86 1.6 too, and have just turned 20, looking to have it on the road within the year!

Hi really like all the effort going into this car, looking very good. I have a 1986 1-6 and been working on it for about 3 years doing hour a day after work, sometimes wonder If i will ever get to drive it let alone finish it. You find that restoring these cars takes you on one massive journey, including blood sweat and almost tears!. Keep up the good work.
