Hi Rob,

Fella your 2.8i Special is looking simply superb mate. Wow ! You certainly have been busy recently, but as has been said your attention to detail is simply stunning. I really love the colour mate. Looks dam fine ! Rob your interior is absolutely spot on ! Those seats are lovely, as is the dash/trim/radio etc... Did you use the Halfords Flexible Vinyl Paint Dark Grey on the boot trim in the end, as it has come up like new. Looks superb !

Mate, how did you restore your rear boot spoiler. Its looks mint !! Did you restore it yourself or get a professional company to do it. Its these amazing details that sets your capri off a treat. I bet you are enjoying every minute of working on it and now when it flies through the MOT there will be no stopping you fella.

Really looking forward to seeing it in the flesh at some stage...maybe even before the year is out Rob, who knows :D

All the very best and keep up your stunning work :applaud:

Nick

Thanks Matt, appreciate it. Pictures always make things look better, it's not perfect but just hearing it run has given me a big boost, looking forward to driving it.

Hi Nick, thanks for comments, makes the long hours worth it. I spoke to a sprayer at work who recommended I use plastic paint & primer on the boot liners. The first one I bought was too light, made sure I bought dark grey second time :) , I used 'forever black' rubber cleaner & dye on spoiler, took 2 coats but came out nice.
All the best,
Rob

Hi,
I've never heard of that black stuff before, is it some kind of paint?
I'd be interested to hear how it works out, as the rear spoiler is one of those parts that nothing seems to work on.

Andrew.

Hi Andrew, this stuff comes as a kit, you clean spoiler first to remove any silicone then paint on with supplied brush, you can see the rubber soak it in, 2 coats was plenty. Saw it on here in an old thread somewhere and can recommend as it works fine.

Cheers Andrew, took it for a victory run to the Brecon Beacons, felt so good to be behind the wheel of a Capri again, don't think the car knew what hit it after its long hibernation but it better get used to it as there'll be more to come :D
All the best,
Rob

It's a stainless system that was on the car when I bought it, believe it was made by long life exhausts, would like a janspeed after hearing all the good reports but as these ones should last I can't see it being any time soon, was going to modify the tips for round ones but these will do for now.

As rob says, it's still available at a select few independent garages. Costs an arm and a leg though!

Hi Rob,
I was planning on going to a more local show, but it's nowhere near as good as the one in St. Fagans, judging by the photos you posted last year. I'm torn between the two.....
