17 yrs old and my first capri project, UPDATED PICS 11/08/13
Hi all. Just thought id put this up using my dads account. Im 17yrs old and this is my 1.3L project. Ive being into the old skool bmx scene for a few years and now its time to get on with my first car. My dad bought this about 7 years ago for me and its sat in the garage since(under junk ) The car has only had 2 previous owners with a gen 34000 miles on the clock. The car is very solid, there is very little rust/rot. But the first owner must of knocked every corner. Me and my dad got it going again, removed all the junk off the top and we're going to make a start on it ASAP. Here's a few pics. Will keep the updates coming

Looks good,
Best base to start from is to have very little rust.
Will be interesting to see what you do with it.

Right guys n gals. This is where all my time has being going lately. My dad is painting the car tonight( I will get a pic before and after ) Sorry for not updating you all. I just haven't had time, we've got progress pics. LMK what you think 8)
once we had took the wings off as careful as possible
LET THE WORK BEGIN 8)
the whole bottom of each wing was rotten. But my dad repaired them, it set us back a while as I wanted genuine ford wings back on the car. But it was well worth it in the end 8)
Once the wings were repaired, I cleaned up the inner wings and behind the wings I stone chipped them all
wings tacked on ready for the last welding
all lined back up ready for the high build primer once id rubbed down with panel wipe
Also, we got a full early S interior all the way from Bristol (can I say a BIG thanks to Nick on this site, RWD. Thanks a lot for the interior) . To make it look even more genuine as a 1.3 s replica. Like ford could of done one BITD. I got an extra surprise for my birthday, that ive being after for a few years. My dads original Rs 3 spoke steering wheel. My dad has had it for 10+ yrs so it was hard to let go of it
I will put pics up of the shell/panels when they were primed up for paint, and a couple of it with its new coat on 8)

Some good progress there and looks like a high standard of work.
keep it up and keep us updated.
You going to stick with the original colour?

Does that have a sunroof?
Since I got a capri I've said "over the moon" a lot more than ever before.

Excellent work!
I built my first car from the ground up, and I was proud of it, as I am sure you will be with yours too (It was a polo though, nothing quite as exciting as a Capri!)
Liking the progress you're making! Keep it up!
Stuart.

your doing a fantastic job keep it up looks like your flying through the project. that early s interior looks mint as do your rostyle wheels it should look brilliant when its done. if i was you i would keep it original because 1.3 L capris are as rare as rocking horse shit ive never seen a mk3 1.3 L just a mk2 1.3 L. as well as L capri's never had sun roof's
