This assumes you have a pic on your computer (for example on your desktop) already -

1. Go to https://postimages.org/ (you do not have to be a member or login)
2. Click Choose Images
3. Browse to the pic you wish to use and double click it (or click once and click Open)
4. Copy the Direct Link in the list (i.e. click the symbol on the right or highlight it and press Control-c)
5. Open up a new message window on here (as if to type your reply/new message, or whatever, as you normally would)
6. Type your message and when done click the Img button and then press Control-v (this will paste the link you previously copied in step 4)
7. Press Preview to see how it will look or Submit, and you're done.

Photos are a bit backwards, but we went from green and fibreglass and scruffy to red and shiny :D Trying to do a bit each day, am currently working on the concentric release bearing set up, new flywheel and new clutch, should have that all buttoned up early next week, then waterpump, alternator brackets and harmonic balancer after that. Have also been working on the power steering lines for the mazda steering rack, have struck a bit of a roadblock there that needs sorting.

Engine now mounted on subframe (temporarily), power steering lines are started, clutch, hydraulic slave cylinder, flywheel and alternator bracket all sorted, and installed the front crossmember for the final time (hopefully) today.

Alternator and bracket finally done, upgraded the internals to a 120 amp unit to cope with the Astra power steering pump, fans, MSD and assorted electrics.

Believe it or not, this lovely piece was a block of billet aluminium yesterday. Not my work sadly, I got a local machine shop that I know to spin it up for me, its a shame that it sits low down where no one sees it!

Well, the only genuine ford part on the whole engine is the cast distributor hold down bracket and an alternator bracket boss, everything else is aftermarket. :D The block is a 4 bolt Siamese bore Boss block, the heads are aluminium Edelbrock heads, Forged pistons, H beam rods, Steel eagle crank, roller rockers, Ferrera valves, Crow cam, etc etc. Makes about 400 HP at the crank, revs all day to 7000 rpm. Built for torque and horsepower, it pulls from about 1800 rpm, in the windy parts of a special stage you just drive the car like a jetboat, on and off the gas in third gear, great fun!

A visitor came today! Not much to see here, but progress is being made. Pedal box is made up, painted and installed, steering column and shaft painted and installed too. LHS suspension is all cleaned up and installed along with the new hubs and brakes, RHS is started and should be all together on Monday. It’ll be rolling then, and I’ll put it on a hoist to investigate why my power steering is leaking, hopefully just a loose fitting. If not, it’s easy to pop it out before I install the engine, shit of a job afterwards, so nows the time to sort it. Engineer comes for his first visit next Friday for first inspection, hopefully he’s happy with what he sees I’ve done, otherwise I’ve got some issues with making it Road legal

Progress! Suspension all fitted, still got brake calipers to reco, but that can come later. Engine and box are all mounted, got to remove the gearbox crossmember again for a bit more work, but that’s easy. Engineer has checked it over, and picked up a few small issues, but nothing too hard to remedy. Still got plumbing, cooling system, wiring, seats and harnesses, exhaust, driveshaft, glass, interior to go!

Bit of progress, gearbox mount sandblasted, primed and painted and installed. Engine is finally in the hole properly. Headers are all bolted up and collectors fitted. Radiator is sitting there, along with the top panel which is all painted up too. Might change it yet, yet to decide. Also started adding straps to the rear strut tops like the engineer wanted. Not sure why, but it’s not welding that well, keep getting contamination in the welds.
