The Daily Driver - 56k no go!

Post by andrewg1323 »

2.0 Auto Cabaret, brought April 07 to be used as a daily driver while i fixed the other capri!

It initially arrived in a bit of a state

Image
Had several holes but nothing major
Image

Just 24 hours later it already started to look better
Image
Image

It still however had a coupla visable scabs on the outside so it got the quick fix of an rga kti brought on ebay for £22

Then onto its first show!

Image

And its second

where i brought
Image

So got bored and did this

And found this

So started work

Then i started my new job and progress virtually stopped! Until it finally went to work earlier this year where i did a bit more and it then went to a friend who restores cars for a spot of work!

Then back to work for me to play

Then it got this

Have since pulled he engine out for a quick rebuild then its back on the road as a daily driver respraying as i go! Might end up fitting something a bit more fun one day engine wise but i;ve got another capri to finish first!

Nice work mate! That's a nice looking car you've got there :) Are you gonna keep the RGA kit?

Not sure, i like the RGA kit but i dont like the edges where it meets the bodywork, i think my only options to make one out of steel eventually

Engine bay finally got painted, wasnt overly impressed with the result!

Basically i decided the bay would take forever to prep so i was happy with it due to the volume of repairs, so instead stone chipped it all so have a textured finish!

The stonechip however has really killed any hopes of a shine from the paint but ah well!

Next up the outside, but first todays pics!

Well after being sat outside my house for 6 months gathering leaves and decaying a bit i moved house to one with a garage

Unfortunatley the garage isnt actually big enough to do much in and thers a slope right out ront so first job is to fit a winch to get the car in and out!
