My Capri
Hi
Been in the garage for last couple of days cleaning one of my cars and Just thought I would post a couple of pictures of my Capri if anyone is interested?I brought it new in 1985, the car is all original, never been washed and never been out in the rain...I have always kept it in a dehumidified and heated garage.... I used to show it years ago but found it all got silly so stopped and just keep it for my pleasure and local runs to the garden center etc. current mileage is 6401 miles from new.
This car has given me so much pleasure over the last 34 years and even now I will wander into the garage with a glass of wine and sit there looking at my cars.
Finally I wish you a merry Christmas

Re: My Capri
For 34 years without ever being washed it looks amazing so congrats for that, everyone who parks their car outside and has to wash bird doo doo off every week is in envy of you sir!
Re: My Capri
Lovely car which is basically still new and looks like it's on original tyres.
Glad you still drive it occasionally

Re: My Capri
Hi
Thanks for the nice replies
As for the cleaning of the car due to the conditions it’s kept in I have only ever wiped it over with a damp microfiber cloth before polishing the car,
The car is still on its original tyres and brakes.
I did fit a s/s exhaust made to the exact spec of the ford
One 33 years ago at a cost of £1050 it was made by PJ Langford who supplied Aston Martin.

Re: My Capri
I tend to use a mixture of polishes
Autoglm silicon/extra gloss, meguires or poorboys
I find to give a lovely depth to the paint, I also only use the polishing clothes once then downgrade them to my daily cars so as not to scratch the paint.

Re: My Capri
It's so much easier if a car doesn't get wet or suffer mud splashes etc.
Not washed mine in a year due to driving mostly on dry roads only.
Damp drying towel to remove any small dirt splashes then detail spray if required or just use a good microfibre to remove any dust

Pbar always happy to answer questions and chat about cars
Thanks for the interest, only decided to post as no one normally gets to see the car and thought it was a shame

Re: My Capri
You’re so right about the cleaning and as mine never goes out if rain is coming or even roads are damp it never seems to get dusty. Most exposure to bits comes when getting one of my other cars out of the garage, could cover them but I like to see them when walking into the garage

Re: My Capri
Black and red Capris do look great, but as you are aware can be hard work to keep on top of.
I've had both and it took me a while to decide to go for the red this time, but on a good day it looks great and worth the extra bit of cleaning at times.
As Andrew says great garage too. I wish.

When I brought this one I nearly went for the Rosso red
Both lovely colors

Wow, I love the engine bay, that is pristine!

If my garage was like that I'd move my bed in there!
