Delivered today. It was left for three years after an MOT hence all the mould.I have a leather Dash cover. Engine is sweet but Tappets are noisy. Should have it done during the Summer hopefully. Will need a few bits like wing mirrors and a few bits for the engine bay. Any advice and info on the car would be good. It's the First Capri I've owned and worked on.

Looks like the interior will come up with a good clean, the exterior looks ok maybe just a wash and polish for now, and you can repair/restore the rest as you drive it :)
Here is a useful link for Capri parts and services viewtopic.php?f=10&t=50830

You may want to invest in a Disklok or similar security device if the car is left outside especially at night.
https://www.disklokuk.co.uk/shop/disklok/ also available on Ebay around £100 or you may get a used one cheaper....Small size fits Capri.

Your car looks in pretty good nick to be fair so fingers crossed you can get it up and on the road without too much trouble  :drive:

Hi
Great to see another Capri destined for the road again. It looks solid too and a later build/reg'?
I'm sure you'll make great progress on the interior; just need a dry day so that you can air it/dry the interior after.
I recently took my dash/pad/clocks/heater/blower etc out. Taking photos helped with putting everything back and I also put the small fixings/screws in small labelled bags.
During your dismantling/cleaning, you might even find the build sheet. It could be between the rear seat backrest trim and the actual backrest frame. Mine was located against the drivers side bulkhead, under the sound deadening material (Saarlouis build).
Enjoy working on/owning your Capri.
:goodluck:

My Capri passed it's MOT today 8-)

Need to sort the noisy tappets out as I can't get my head around how to do it. Still looking for a centre arm rest too.

Taking it out for it's first run since April tomorrow. 8-) 8-)

Congrats :applaud: :D on getting it MOT'd, you must be chuffed. It's looking a lot better now you've cleaned it up.

RE the valve clearances, they aren't too difficult to do if you follow the haynes manual. You will need a 19mm (3/4 inch) spanner and a 15mm to set the clearances as well as some feeler guages to measure them. Remember to get a new rocker cover gasket too and make sure it's the right width for your car - some are about 12mm wide and others about 20mm wide as a guesstimate.

Good news with MOT and nice shine on that bonnet :)

Try Caprigear or Colin White 07799693555 for the armrest.
