New car

Post by Bobpool »

Hi,thank you for accepting me.
I'm picking this Capri 2.0 Laser up in the next few week's. Passed it's MOT in 2016 then left on someones drive. Going to see if it starts on Friday and what I need to get it back on the road. The bottom photo is my other car I use for car shows and the odd bit of fun driving.

Looks nice, always like a black Capri. Had a black V70 in the past, lovely when it was clean...

I do like the black car black wheels look, but black RS4 wheels just look unnatural to me - obviously your choice but looks like a lovely car

Any tips I should be looking for when I go and have a good look at it tomorrow ?

I'll be buying it anyway at the price I'm paying but a few tips will help.

Have a look through this buyers guide:
http://www.fordcaprilaser.co.uk/page3.html
It should give you some good pointers of what to look for.

Engine was spot on. Bodywork has a few rust spots and possibly needs a new passenger wing.

Interior was green with mould. I’ll strip all the seats out and clean the algae off the wheel and dashboard once I’ve googled the best way.

Four brand new tyres never been on the road. Wheels all good.

Dash is badly cracked and dull. Not sure what to do with it yet.

Underneath was great.

It had a MOT then left so should be ok. Strange to see how much space there is in the engine bay. My probe has none.
