That would have been a 2000E. It was a limited edition they made with leather seats etc, named after the Corsair 2000E

I remember when the Sierra first came to the market in 1982, seeing pictures and everyone called it a Jelly Mould
Nothing looked like it, not even the Mk3 Escort which was relatively new, and I wasn't sure I liked it after the square/angular cars that had come and gone before.

Funny how 35 years later things grow on you, and even though many cars now have the same rounded design, the Sierra is still recognisable

When I bought my Capri, a friend Johnathan in work, who owns a Laser, was saying I wonder what will be the next Ford to take off? I said at the time it's got to be the Sierra, as it's the last main stream rear wheel drive Ford. His answer? They'll never take off.. So I looked at the time (2014) and there was a 2000E with 2 owners & 50odd K miles on autotrader for £1295. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, try finding one for that price now

Something has to become the Capri, Granada and Mk1/2 Escort equivalent, and imo the Sierra has as good a chance as any.
Get them now before they take off Although the XR4 and 4X4 are among the cheapest in the XR range
Mk1 XR2 and Mk3 XR3/3i are off and running, probably because they are more 'Hot Hatch'.

Andrew I can't lie, I do have a tartan blanket in the boot
But is it to keep the boot carpet clean, or stop the old knees getting a bit cold sitting around at shows

They are around but not a common sight, although usually a couple for sale at any one time, and as Classic Fords go they are fairly cheap compared to certain other models..... My mate has a 2.0 XR4X4 but that's not my cup of tea.

I've got admit that I didn't realise that Ford made a 2.0 XR4x4. No wonder I don't see any about, as there only appears to be 29 licensed and another 85 on SORN in the UK. That's one rare car your mate has.
Mind you, there's only 268 of the V6s licensed, so they're not exactly commonplace.

I wasn't aware of the 2.0 version until last year or so....
'How many left' really confuses me at times (which isn't hard) as there are often several variations of the same car.

I remember you commented on the lack of them at Simply Ford last year, so I had to help put that right

Treated SOO to 4 new tyres, seat repair and a tank full of petrol today

Well she is 28 years old 7/4 / 2017

My standard 14" alloys are ok although an older refurb, I thought a set of 15" may fill arches better.

Standard wheels; 5.5 inch wide offset 41mm
Aftermarket wheels, 7 inch wide; 30 to 38mm. 6.5 inch wide; 30 to 40mm. 6 inch wide; 25 to 40 mm

Might put it on the backburner for now until some genuine wheels come up that will fit
