Can someone confirm which cap should go on the rad and which on the expansion tank please?

Hi,
The "flat" cap with no spring goes on the radiator, and the sprung one on the expansion tank.

Andrew.

Engine bay looking a bit tidier. Not too flash, just presentable. Waiting on a few bits to finish. Will upload a few pics then.

In the meantime I raised the car and removed the fuel tank.

Any idea as to why someone in the past has blocked the breather off?

Overall not too bad underneath. A few small areas to patch and then I'll stonechip and waxoyl it :D

Hi Lee not sure why someone would want to block this tube off.
This is how it should be routed.

Thanks Neil. Can't quite make out where it goes when it goes towards bottom of tank? Does it just go to air? Glad you posted though, I thought it somehow linked to the small diameter tube alongside the filler neck!

Its just open to air..... There should be a clip that holds it just in front of the fuel pump mount.
I replaced the flexi tube with a sample length of this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140651643496? ... EBIDX%3AIT If you're not worried about originality you could buy a longer length and not use the plastic smaller pipe.

That'll do for me :D

Flash makes the lower bits I've not 'buftied' look worse than they are. It's now a fairly tidy engine bay and will do me nicely. I'll probably gunk the block etc once I can get it on drive.

Good job :applaud:
No idea why the rocker covers were painted grey, but they do look good.

:goodluck: with the exhaust change over :)

That looks great Lee, I'm very impressed :applaud:

I removed my sound deadening and can't say I noticed a difference in sound levels. But it does look a lot better IMO!

Is it just my capri (mk3) or do they all tend to rot on the passenger side more ? Just finished my welding repairs on mine and they've all been down the passenger side ! Rear chassis, rear front Spring hanger area and front passenger footwell seam ! None needed on drivers and none been done in the past ! All the ones I've repaired this week has been 'MOT style' repaired in the past too !!!!
