CapriLee wrote:Is it just my capri (mk3) or do they all tend to rot on the passenger side more ? Just finished my welding repairs on mine and they've all been down the passenger side ! Rear chassis, rear front Spring hanger area and front passenger footwell seam ! None needed on drivers and none been done in the past ! All the ones I've repaired this week has been 'MOT style' repaired in the past too !!!!
Not noticed this before, as mine's still fairly original. Could it be where most of the standing water sits on the roads when its rained and possibly where the salt and grit ends up? The areas you've mentioned are common to the Capri, but done properly should give loads more years life to the car :D

Lol I wish mate - it's part of the New Years revolution - to lose the beer belly !!! But I've managed - it's all stone chipped and waxoyled, tanks bank on , fuel pipes back on . Just painted my 15in 7 spokes . Next job fit leccy aerial and then I can fit the splash guards. Loads done just nothing picture worthy really !!!

Guys
Fitted the dash board up today . Gonna need some better lower panels but they'll do for now .
Anyway , when I'd finished I checked the electrics . Everything works apart from the dash lifts and lights for centre console, cigar lighter light , etc . Any ideas before I pull it all back out ? :( there's no separate fuse :-/

Horn to fix
Rear washer pump to fit when it comes
Few checks and she'll be MOT ready !

Midway through a little detail

Hi Lee,
The car looks great! Black is a really good colour if you want a really deep shine, like on your car.....it's not so good for ease of keeping clean though, unfortunately.
Out of interest, what size spacers did you need for the Sierra wheels?

Andrew.

Thanks Andrew
Yes for that reason I have never got on with black in the past - constantly having to wax it to keep it looking nice . But I like black capris so had to have it :)
I used 5mm spacers on the rear and 20mm in front . I think it looks fine but will see what people think when it's on the road / at a show ! :)

:agree: my sons car is black, he wanted the mirror finish look, he's a bit of a slave to it to be honest but it's worth the effort.
Wheels look great, you can't tell them from Brookies in the picture.

Cheers Rob. Think the rears need spacing a little more but will sort that after house move etc !

Happy with the paint finish for now :)

Looking good Lee but it doesn't show how much hard work you've done....post some full shots of the car and stop tempting us with the odd wing "here and there" shots.... :D..
