Thanks Andy, it's a perfect example of the want/need to drive it taking over initially followed by the realisation that I ##ed up and had to do it all over again!!! ..... Lesson learned.... :)

Threw a seat in the car then out for the first run in ages, pulled well no overheating whatsoever very happy.. :D
Rear axel was a fair bit less noisy but he's 34 years old and the refurbed prop made a difference, the interior is stripped out so you could hear the janspeed (and everything else) growling away... Now have to add a cold/hot start issue and the speedo packed in but overall he performed well.

Nice touch was an Audi R8 pulled alongside, slowed down and started waving with a thumbs up....made my day

Hi Des,
I bet he secretly wanted to be you :D
I'm surprised at the amount of classic cars on the road at this time of year :o Usually SORN :headscratch:
Followed a '57 Chevy earlier....That sounded great :lowrider:

Hi Des,
Great news that your car is running well, and the overheating issue has been cured.

All the best,
Andrew.

Hello,
I've seen at least three classics over the weekend I think the fine weather is to blame let's hope it lasts.
I haven't had a wave from an R8 driver but plenty of people giving me the thumbs up and even a group of cyclists saying 'nice capri mate'.

Hi Des,

I reckon the stunning girl was wishing she was sitting next to you in your stunning capri fella...especially after hearing the rumble of your Janspeeds...surely thats enough to seduce anyone :)

Great to hear you had a fantastic drive out in your 2.8i yesterday Des. It made me laugh when you said you "threw a seat in the car" Nice one Des !

Great to hear its running well too mate but no surprise there as you been working hard on the Capri recently. Glad its all paying off.

Its great to get all the attention aint it mate. Dont know what it is but people do react slightly different if they see a Capri. Suppose it still hold emotions for alot of people who had one or parents had one. Yours is so stunning it will always turn heads Des...and ears too

All the best mate

Nick

Hi Nick

Nothing but the dash and steering wheel left in there so yep just threw a seat in buddy.. enjoyed it so much I was up early and out for an hour this morning :D lots to do Nick but getting there slowly need to sort whatever with the back axel then start stripping the old wiring (loads of it) behind the dash, old alarms etc then I'm cutting out the rot on the rear lower corners about July time..... Took a couple of pics this morning..

Cheers, Des

This is an older pic of my dash etc in the car, it has a black dash, instrument facia combined with a grey lower half, glovebox etc....is this a combination Ford did or should it all be a matchIing grey...?

Hi Des,
It should all be grey.
For some reason, the grey dashes seem to be more prone to splitting than black ones. The previous owner must have replaced the original when it split.

Hi Andrew

Yes you're right, so a few more parts required... Should be really easy to find reasonably priced uncut, uncracked grey dash and uncut facia... :sarcasmalert:

Although I could just paint the dash, I'll ask Nick if he knows any good paint suppliers.. :D
